We’ve enjoyed watching young, powerful sportspersons compete in Paris.
But here’s Betty Brussel at the age of 99
So as the games wind down in Paris, this clip reminds us that having a lifelong ‘Olympic state of mind’ is more powerful…

When India lost the world cup 2023 final, Rahul Dravid himself came ahead to do the press conference and faced tough questions.
When India won 2024 world cup, he sent Rohit Sharma to do the press conference.

Individual records & milestones became secondary, & it attracted not only the players but a select audience world wide.
He wasn’t there to impose himself as a great batsman, he was there as a leader determined to leave behind an unmatched legacy.
Not only tactically or strategically apt, his communication, man management, leadership, situational adjustments & the calmness in adversity, high self belief & trust in his players has had a lasting impact. His captaincy may well become a case study for future generations.
