There are 2 main ways people tend to think about a #system
I'm passionate in both. And enjoy using tools from science of systems to make life better.
Amateurs believing they can use the latest thing to be just as good as the best professionals without putting in the time and graft to actually be as good as said professional is a story as old as time.
Otherwise fat sweaty sunday league footballer would be Cristiano Ronaldo.
Iโm a problem solver, a communicator, a planner, an analyst, and a prover.
Iโm the glue that binds projects and programs together. Iโm the guy you ask how something works or how itโs supposed to work, and how to fix whatโs broken.
Iโm a #systemsengineer
My Saturday morning errand run as a Systems Engineer :
๐ตโ๐ซ
1. Tire pressures checked.
2. Traffic contingencies mapped.
3. Weather radar audited.
4. Two backup phone cables packed.
Flawless! What a safety-critical execution for a 10 mins trip to Wickes.
BUT then ๐
Arrive at the till. Reaching into my pocket ...

Turns out two decades of risk-mitigation planning canโt fix zero pre-coffee โ brainpower!
Technical Breadth vs Depth
Systems engineers struggle with the need to have:
โข Broad technical knowledge across many domains
โข Sufficient depth to make informed decisions
No, you don't need the "the safest car brands or car models".
You just need not be an idiot!
300 km/h ?? ...
what a surprise
If you never take any risk you will never lose. But you wonโt win either!
Calculated Risk is the Ticket.

The review board spent months assessing my high-level technical judgement and work experience. Good thing they didn't watch me try to function before my first morning coffee ...

Officially a Chartered Engineer now! with the @incoseuk (Institute for Systems Engineering (IfSE).
No generic "๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ฃ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฅ" templates here. Just a genuine sense of pride for a milestone that represents years of getting my hands dirty ... ๐

A huge thank you to the mentors, colleagues and IfSE peers who supported me through the rigorous application and review process.
Shout-out to those who worked with me to deliver and put up with my questions. The list could go on, but then I'll never finish this post.
