I see the rape apologists are still out in force this morning. ๐กThe block button is getting a bloody good workout!

After witnessing the bravery of the women at the Russell Brand trial - and seeing what the cross examination was like - wanted to repost this from 2023 about why women might decide not to report rape
I donโt know what happened with Russell Brand. He denies criminality.
ย
But I DO understand why women might not report rape to the police

The same people protecting women and girls sure donโt like a white man being found guilty of rape.
83 % of rapes go unreported in this country. If you want to understand why, start by looking at some of the discourse on here around Russell Brandโs conviction.
This
So, now that Russell Brand is going to prison for rape, perhaps it's time for some of you to engage in a little overdue self-reflection.
I'm talking about those of you who dismissed his victims as money-grabbing whores.
Those of you who concocted deranged conspiracy theories about a deep-state plot to silence Brand simply because he talked bollocks on his YouTube channel.
Because beneath all that sanctimonious, conspiratorial bullshit were real women, real victims, who had endured horrific sexual assaults at the hands of a rapist.
Perhaps spare a thought for them next time you're tempted to turn someone else's suffering into another instalment of your tinfoil fantasies.

On GB News we put free speech first - even when we disagree with each other. @toryboypierce furiously clashes with @beverleyturner over a tweet in which she called Russell Brand a โheroโ after an investigation uncovered accusations of rape and sexual assault.

Enormous test this weekend. Whether or not we can even give Brighton a good game let alone take any points from it will show us if we deserve the praise we get from outside our own fans.
As I told my dad, I fear Brighton infinitely more than any of the "big" 6 this season.

Someone told me to "vote according to Biblical values!"
So I voted for welcoming immigrants, helping the poor, feeding the hungry, bringing healthcare to the sick, forgiving debts, caring for our planet, laying down our swords, and loving all our neighbors.
How did that go for you?

A bad night for Trump also means this is becoming a bad night for Gianni Infantino. Expect major scrutiny of his and FIFAโs ties to Trump administration if/when Democrats take the house.

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message โ they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face.
These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country โ including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first.
We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy.
While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

We are witnessing a generational political change in Texas tonight and elsewhere too.
It will be a bodyblow to the Republican Party. There is no future for them without Texas.
To understand how it happened, watch our special @TheNewsAgents report.
