#DidYouKnow? 🇺🇸🇳🇬 Nigeria is one of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation’s (DFC) largest portfolios in Africa, with nearly $600 millioncommitted across 16 active projects, supporting economic growth, investment, and sustainable development.  In Nigeria, DFC partners with the private sector to mobilize strategic capital, provide project development support, and invest across sectors including energy, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and financial services. These investments harness American expertise, expand economic opportunities, and strengthen U.S.-Nigeria commercial ties that deliver prosperity for both our two countries. #TradeTuesday

2/ In the Renewed Hope Agenda, I promised Nigerians a digital economy that creates opportunities at home and puts our young people at its centre. That thinking led me to establish and chair the Presidential Steering Committee on Digital Free Zones. I directed the Committee to take our free zone framework, created more than three decades ago for a very different economy, and modernise it for the digital economy we are building today. That work is now taking shape. Nigeria’s first Digital Free Zone, Itana, is now licensed by the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and already provides a platform for global and pan-African digital and service businesses to establish and operate in Nigeria. Companies are showing interest, and the Africa Finance Corporation @africa_finance is backing the $500 million Itana Innovation project, Lagos, which will bring together the ideal policy environment. This innovation campus will serve as a home for startups to build at scale, access capital, and access the ecosystem services needed to help African startups grow and retain more of the value they create on the continent.

During my 25 years working on new governance models, the main bottleneck has been finding the incredible founders we need to build something as epic as a charter city. The space is ripe & ready for new companies, and we're assembling an amazing collection of OGs to advise a fascinating collection of new founders at this @Prosperahn event. If you're serious about exploring a concept in the space, please apply! And feel free to DM me to highlight anything about your app: luma.com/founders_acc2026

Alpha City: a federation of cities where anyone with drive can thrive I often have a hard time answering the question “can you name a few benchmarks in @tftcxyz ' space?”. I can surely think about projects that do develop relevant products in our space, such as: ▶️ Single SEZs, like @CiudadMorazan & @Prosperahn in Honduras, Itana in Nigeria and @ThisIsSIC in Sierra Leone; ▶️ E-governance & e-residency platforms, such as Estonia's e-residency program ▶️ Orchestration software for SEZs, such as Mass. Yet, very few projects bundle deep civilizational design, true economic development frameworks, emerging technologies at their urban core, and a foundational federated network of charter cities. @alphacityinc is one of them. Alpha was founded by Bradford Cross. Brad explored AI 25 years ago, before AI became a thing. Brad explored crypto 15 years ago, before crypto became a thing. Brad is also managing general partner of @PronomosVC, a venture capital fund backing founders building new cities and special jurisdictions. He is now building Alpha City in Africa: charter cities ranging from core districts that supercharge foundational industries like agriculture, fishing and tourism, to portal districts at the cutting edge of crypto, AI and energy. Alpha sets a vibrant, sustainable new standard for human civilization, rich with opportunity, security, and an active, fulfilling lifestyle where everybody wins. In a recent inspiring interview co-hosted by @peerbase_, founder of @ipecity, and Rafael Castaneda, co-founder of @OxusFinance, Brad shared a compelling vision where AI and crypto form the technological backbone for reinventing human civilization from the ground up. By fusing principles of classical and social liberalism, Alpha City prototypes startup cities to demonstrate more efficient, accountable governance and vibrant economies built on zero taxation and pay-for-service models. The emerging world is viewed not as a problem but a fertile ground for bold governance experiments that could eventually transform even robust Western democracies. Education too must evolve radically with AI-driven personalized learning to prepare citizens for this new era. Through strategic immigration policies and decentralizing power, these new cities aim to be more adaptive and just. For those invested in the future of technology, governance, and society, this discussion offers a roadmap coupled with urgent calls to innovate, collaborate, and actively build these future models today. Super excited for @PronomosVC to be bringing city founders together for the first time on 3/28 @Prosperahn. Creating new societies able to rapidly innovate their regulatory stack is incredibly important & equally hard: which means sharing knowledge both between prospective founders, and those who have been in the trenches is an essential ingredient for success. This is an invite/application-based event, and while others are on the decision committee, what I'm personally looking for is the two archetypes I believe are most likely to succeed: 1) Founders of new communities (ideally with legal autonomy, but not required) with significant traction relative to their age - whether that's govt deals, key partners, paying users, etc. 2) Badass entrepreneurs like @bradfordcross with the track record to show they'd be a huge asset to the movement, who are intrigued by this new space but need to learn more before diving in. The application will pop up when you register on luma (luma.com/founders_acc2026); please spread the word & DM me if you'd like to endorse an applicant. Also be sure to check out the more public event 3/26-27: luma.com/lib_acc2026
Innovation in governance is the base layer for innovation in other areas. Especially for those innovating at the frontier. Founders in this space are working on some of the most important tasks when it comes to bringing about more freedom and prosperity, by creating new cities, special economic zones, and special jurisdictions. I am helping @ProsperaGlobal @infinitacity and @PronomosVC host a program for such founders. On March 25/28, @patrissimo will facilitate a Founders Program in @Prosperahn , where founders will work with each other to solve their challenges, and take their projects to the next level. If you are a founder, this is a great opportunity: you will be surrounded by people already in the market, as well as investors and policy professionals. So join us by signing up luma.com/founders_acc2026

Kigali SEZ – over $2 B invested, host to 220+ companies. It accounts for 10% of Rwanda’s 10% total exports. Key to its success: 2018 land‑leasing reforms, one‑stop licensing via SEZAR, and emerging talent pipelines tied to Kigali Innovation City. High-quality, ready-made infrastructure (roads, power, fiber) removes setup delays. Streamlined permitting under SEZAR means one-stop regulatory clarity and speed.
