But a couple of things still got flagged on the good contract, and it was my fault... I asked "can you stake without your rewards being settled first?" and it said 89% yes. And it's right. "Settled" sounds like "paid out", and the good contract checkpoints rewards on stake, it doesn't pay them. It answered the question I wrote, not the one I meant.
That's Jev in a nutshell: it's literal, and once you stop treating it like a chatbot and start writing questions like test assertions, it's very good.
So I rewrote the questions to be a little bit more specific. Each pointing at one mechanism. Below is the good contract:
Then the same contract, deliberately busted. Divide-before-multiply, no scaling, transfers before state updates, anyone can start a reward period, tx.origin auth, 0.7 with no SafeMath. Fourteen distinct bugs.
... wait a minute, aren't the results shown barely better than a coin flip? What gives?
I asked it the wrong kind of question.
Jev isn't an LLM. It doesn't reason, doesn't generate text. It looks at the state, looks at your question, and returns a calibrated probability in <500ms.
"Is the reward math wrong?" isn't a snap judgment. It's an audit. You'd have to check every arithmetic line and that can be time consuming.
