Itās basically an all star edition of Barkley so people shouldnāt be too surprised! But we should all continue to be surprised by the lack of women given entries š some things never change.
Replying to @GoZwift
Zwift has done great things supporting women in sport with the Tour de France Femmes sponsorship š I love the platform for entertainment training indoors but that is definitely icing on the cake.

These are my teammates. We are Olympic champions. Three of us tried to give birth. Two of us experienced near-death complications. One of us died. We have to, and we will do more. Toriās death cannot and will not be in vain.

I agree. I think my performance last year left a lot to be desired....though I did think that beating AT's FKT on New Hampshire 48 peaks this summer regained my street cred š Not to Laz though! I'm not even on the weight list, so it'd be a 3+ year journey back. It's over for me!

Agreed. Alas, we will never know for sure!

I think this actually proves my point though - Can you show progress with only one attempt? (especially now that the course is harder!)

Iād be curious to see how many finishers and fun runners finish more than one on their first go. Maybe will do a deep dive today!
Replying to @henryspeir
Would love to see actual data to back that up (maybe I am biased!) but to me it appears after the 2015ish time frame, yes a few favorites get their repeat years but most other never get a chance to return, *despite the same results!* (Early years, yes, most got multiple tries)

Agreed with your second point but I donāt agree entirely with your first. Especially post-Covid with the backlog it will take even the most qualified a multi year processs to get in. Results and performance there by no means guarantee entry, as someone who has done it!
Replying to @alyssagodesky @SageCanaday
Most elite athletes canāt dedicate that kind of time and energy to a race when entry isnāt guaranteed, thereās no prize money, and you really arenāt even supposed to tell fans youāre running it (or trying to)ā¦.we have a living to support and Barkley doesnāt do it. (2/2)
Replying to @SageCanaday
I think Barkley would have a lot more finishers if the gatekeeping didnāt require you to live/breathe Barkley for years when youāre at prime fitness to get a couple attempts at it (which it probably needs for success). (1/2)

Sheās disregarding a major tenant of voters: that the only thing that might irk them more than an elected official not acting for their interests is if they think said official is trying to trick them. This all feels so sneaky and voters are (hopefully) smarter than this!
