Very honored to host the great @drsanjaygupta (Associate Chief of Neurosurgery at @HospitalGrady and Chief Medical Correspondent at @CNN) on his visit to our labs today to explore the latest research (through @NU_QSIB) and commercialization (through @epicorebio) activities around our soft, skin-interfaced microfluidic devices – ‘lab on the skin’ technologies – for collection, capture and colorimetric biomarker analysis of microliter volumes of sweat. Lab tours, engaging discussions, in-depth interviews and live demonstrations – all in the context of a feature piece on this emerging method for medical diagnostics that will appear in December on the CNN show Vital Signs. Stay tuned! Big thanks to @aTonyBanks, @MingyuZhouNU and Monica Li for laboratory and device preparations, to Dr. Lorenzo Gallon for representing our clinical collaborations, and to @amanda_mo, Ana Wedding and @Ciran0 for logistical support. Excellent teamwork -- flawless execution from start to finish!

I can't overemphasize how dramatically the Arctic is warming, how much this is affecting people in the Arctic already, how quickly ice is retreating, and how much this will eventually affect people all around the world. Keep fighting for climate action.

For the first time, a Northwestern study has linked underground climate change to the shifting ground beneath urban areas.
Although rising temperatures are a concern, the researchers also view it as a potential opportunity to reuse heat waste as a thermal energy resource.
