This past week alone, Russia has launched around 1,600 guided aerial bombs, 48 missiles of various types, including ballistic missiles, and nearly 2,300 attack drones against Ukraine. Unfortunately, almost every day, these brutal strikes leave people killed and injured. In the evening, Russian strikes on the Dnipro region killed four people. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 22 people were injured, including an 11-year-old girl. In Vinnytsia, a Russian drone struck a high-rise apartment building. Six people were injured. In Kharkiv, the Russians first struck a home improvement hypermarket and then carried out a cynical double-tap strike on the emergency services that arrived at the scene. First responders were injured. There were also strikes overnight on a thermal power plant, substations, coal mines, grain storage facilities, shopping malls, and a postal logistics hub. Damage has been reported in nine regions. This is how Russia responds to diplomacy and deisolation. And it is very important that support for those who protect lives not diminish alongside the negotiation process. We need to unblock the deliveries of Patriot interceptors already approved by European countries. We need to continue supporting Ukrainian combat aviation to defend against jet-powered “shaheds.” Every such defense package, especially ahead of winter, helps save lives. I thank all partners who provide this kind of support.

Speaking to me from Kyiv, President Zelensky says he is ready for a ceasefire. “It’s not about the name,” he says, but about “the result: stop the killing, ceasefire, or freeze the conflict – and have strong security guarantees… not to give any chance for Russia, for Putin… to come back to Ukraine and kill our people.”

BREAKING: Mitt Romney Puts Zelenskyy Alongside Churchill and Washington as Trump Pushes Ukraine to Cave Trump spent the week trying to strong-arm Ukraine into a deal with Putin, and Mitt Romney just answered him with a history lesson. The former Republican senator and 2012 presidential nominee posted a short, cutting defense of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that spread across the internet within the hour. “Churchill could have shortened WW2 by years if he had just ‘done a deal’ with Hitler,” Romney wrote. “George Washington could have done a deal to end the American Revolution. Zelenskyy is in good company.” Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Anne Applebaum quickly reposted it, and the message pulled in roughly 140,000 views and nearly 8,000 likes in less than an hour. Standing With Ukraine When It Counts Romney’s post lands as the relationship between Washington and Kyiv hits a new low. Trump announced a deal on Oct. 9 to buy Russian diesel in an effort to bring down fuel prices before the midterms. Then over the weekend he attacked Zelenskyy directly, claiming the Ukrainian leader doesn’t want to end the war and probably never did. Zelenskyy has said he believes steps have been taken to convince Ukraine to capitulate. Romney’s point is simple. Leaders who refuse to surrender to invaders are not obstacles to peace. They are the reason freedom survives. Churchill refused to bargain with Hitler while bombs fell on London. Washington refused to trade away independence through years of brutal war. History remembers both as heroes. A Republican Who Still Knows Who the Bad Guy Is Romney has never wavered on Russia. In 2012 he called it America’s number one geopolitical foe and was mocked for it. More than a decade later, he has been proven right again and again. While much of his party has gone quiet as Trump cozies up to the Kremlin, Romney refuses to pretend Putin is a partner for peace. Trump keeps talking about deals. Romney is talking about history. And history has never been kind to the leaders who sold out the people fighting for their freedom.

Finland is a leader of the Shelter Coalition, and we have an agreement to work within this Coalition to secure additional funding for shelter construction in Ukraine. Construction is already underway in different regions of our country – various projects. Some will be completed in the near future, while others are more complex – particularly shelters in hospitals – and are still under construction. We are also placing emphasis on providing mobile shelters. The fact is that the Shelter Coalition has begun its work. We agreed that Finland will try to organize an international meeting with other countries participating in the Coalition. There are currently 16 members, and the Coalition will expand. We need meetings and formats to secure more funding for these unquestionably important projects. Of all countries in Europe, Finland has the greatest experience and the highest quality of shelter construction. I said this during a press conference with Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo.

I'm sitting in a Kyiv hotel room listening to explosions that are rattling the windows. Meanwhile, the White House is trying to cyber-bully me because I criticized Steve Witkoff for calling Putin a “humanitarian.” What a weird night. Ah, to be an American journalist in Ukraine.

Look into the eyes of these titans. Ukraine survives because of warriors like them. 📽 First footage of the fighters of the 65th Brigade after 320 days in hell without rotation on the Zaporizhzhia front. They walked nearly 18 km over three days to reach the evacuation point.

Three waves of ballistic missiles have been launched at Kyiv by Russian “humanitarians” since yesterday evening. They used 21 missiles. Unfortunately, numerous sites across the city have been hit and damaged: ordinary residential buildings, energy facilities, infrastructure at one of the railway stations and the metro, shopping malls, and businesses. Even a monastery is among the damaged sites. Our emergency services are working at all the affected locations. Twelve of our regions came under Russian attack overnight. In Kyiv and across the regions, 34 people were injured, including five children. As of now, two people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Almost immediately after another round of talks, Russia launched a pointed attack. This means there has been no real change in its attitude toward everything that is happening. It is important to keep trying to find the right solutions to end this war. But when Russia responds to negotiations with ballistic missiles, real pressure on Russia is needed to bring about different steps – steps toward ending the killing. Stronger air defenses and the rapid delivery of missiles, the ability to destroy ballistic missile launchers, sanctions over the war – all of this must be in place. I am grateful to everyone who sees the situation for what it is and acknowledges the reality. The aggressor deserves to be treated accordingly. Ukraine deserves support. People's lives deserve protection. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine!

Oh, I’m fucking angry today. And you better brace yourselves. I haven’t slept for 24 hours. For an entire fucking day, Russia has been pounding Kyiv with Geran attack drones. Wave after wave. Relentlessly. TWENTY-FOUR HOURS. And while we’re living through this nightmare, Donald Trump is reportedly complaining: “We gave Ukraine enormous amounts of money. And all we got in return was high diesel prices.” ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! We’re being bombed. We’re losing sleep, electricity, homes and lives. And you’re talking about DIESEL PRICES?! Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (HUR) has released new estimates of Russia’s military stockpiles ahead of winter. 🚨 Russia is reportedly producing more than 200 missiles every month, including approximately 110 ballistic missiles. Russia’s estimated arsenal includes: 🔴 6,200 Shahed-type attack drones in reserve. 🔴 115 Iskander-M ballistic missiles, with another 65 produced monthly. 🔴 More than 450 Kalibr cruise missiles. 🔴 Up to 400 RM-48U missiles. 🔴 More than 600 Oniks missiles. 🔴 More than 120 Zircon missiles. 🔴 Kh-101 production reportedly exceeds 80 missiles per month. Do you understand what these numbers mean? They mean more nights like this. More Ukrainian children sleeping in shelters. More families living without electricity or heating. More civilians killed while the world debates the price of fuel. Russia is stockpiling weapons ahead of winter. We are preparing to survive another winter of Russian attacks. And instead of talking about diesel prices, perhaps it’s time to talk about stopping the country that’s bombing us. UKRAINIANS ARE NOT THE PRICE YOU PAY FOR YOUR POLITICAL GAMES. We are human beings. And we have the right to live. #Ukraine #Kyiv #RussiaUkraineWar #StandWithUkraine #AirDefense #RussianWarCrimes

Yesterday, we all saw the video of Kostiantyn Vlasenko, a Ukrainian Defender from the 30th Brigade, being evacuated by drone from a position on the left bank of the Oskil River in the Kupiansk sector, Kharkiv region. I was deeply impacted by the video and his interview. After being seriously wounded in February, Kostiantyn lost one leg. Several months later, when gangrene set in, he had to amputate his other leg himself. Throughout all of this, he continued to hold the position alone. Several attempts to evacuate him by land had failed, so different units of Ukraine's Defense Forces came together to rescue Kostiantyn. I'm speechless.
Yet another historic first has taken place in Ukraine. The most important part is that the rescue mission saved the Defender's life. "A historic event has taken place - an evacuation from the front line using a flying drone." - Napalm, a squad leader and programmer with the Unmanned Ground Systems Company of the 92nd Assault Brigade. An infantryman from the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade was wounded while holding his position. Due to intense Russian drone activity and mined terrain, evacuating him using conventional unmanned ground vehicles was impossible. That’s when specialists from 92nd Assault Brigade UGS Company took responsibility for doing something that had never been done before: evacuating a service member using an aerial drone. The aircraft was a heavy-lift hexacopter manufactured by Ukrainian company Gurzuf Defence, which provided it free of charge. The drone was piloted by an operator from the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade. The operation was a success - the wounded Defender was rescued! (Note how evacuation by ground drones has already become "conventional". This war is changing the future of warfare)
