The new Discord client using less RAM is just part of the story. Clicking around feels instant, I can't go back. Check out the boot time.

We've been early adopters of Rust since 2018 and a lot of our infra, voice tech, and even some of the current client is already Rust, the holy grail was getting the whole client there. That means Electron goes away, and so does React Native, mobile keeps native UI but shares app code with desktop via Rust. We hope to get it into testing with users soonβ„’. (And it's not Tauri, it's GPUI, so good guess everyone.) Alright, back to staring at the WoW Forever login screen.

Valve has changed how to verify your age for Australian Steam users. Instead of requiring a credit card, there is a new option now: - Automatic Age Verification: "your account age verified if it is at least nine years old and has had a consistent email address or billing info."

Discord is rebuilding its apps from scratch in Rust! Discord CTO Stanislav Vishnevskiy confirmed they are ditching Electron and React Native. The new client is fully written in Rust and uses GPUI for rendering. Early preview show massive performance gains: - RAM usage dropped to ~290 MB (down from ~2 GB) - Single, lightweight process instead of endless Chromium helpers

m0narcS & hizku - Evasive Switching Benchmarks out now! (Link is in the replies!) This project is very special to me, originally being one of the first subcategories I had excelled in early on. I hope this finds it's way to players who love this skill as much as I do <3

We settled an FPS debate with actual data πŸ‘€ Does a lighter mouse help your aim? We looked at 9,067 players who switched mice. The lighter crowd (35-64g) tended to improve most over a week. But it’s not a clean β€œlighter wins”, there were surprises πŸ‘‡

Hello everyone, today marks the end of an incredible chapter in my life. I am officially parting ways with Paper Rex, the team that has helped me grow as an individual in and outside the game. 5 years ago when i got called up to join PRX i never imagined my life would be like this at all. I've been through so many highs and lows with this team and i would like to thank every single teammate, coach, staff and fan that have followed me along this journey. Thank you all for treating me like your second family and to the fans thank you all for continuously supporting me and the team no matter the situation for half a decade. Im very excited to see whats next up and hope you all can continue supporting me :) PRX Jinggg signing out 🫑
