This #WorldRefugeeDay is historic for all the wrong reasons: Over 110 million people are currently displaced from their homes, a higher number than anytime since WWII.
Honored to share my thoughts with @wef and highlight @RESCUEorg's life-saving work.

It was an honor to speak at the @UN High-Level Dialogue on Sovereign Pathways and ensure that the world not forget the millions of children dying of starvation every year.
Join us at @MAF_Action to build a future where no child perishes from hunger.
At a time when the U.S. political system is broken, ending child starvation is one of the few issues that unites policymakers across the political spectrum.
Thank you @Forbes for having me on to discuss one of the greatest moral injustices of our time.

A staggering 45m children under five are experiencing acute malnutrition at any given time.
To end malnutrition, we need to be more rigorous + strategic. In Rome, I announced @USAID will host an evidence summit on wasting research in Dec to shape a new evidence agenda.
It's heart-breaking that children are starving to death due to shortages of life-saving therapeutic food. @RESCUEorg's Movement Against Malnutrition advocates for a simpler approach that is far cheaper. We need to stop these headlines from being the norm.

The number of people suffering from hunger today is significantly higher than it was 15 years ago, according to the UN's latest State of Food Insecurity report.
733 million people were hungry last year, a major increase from 604 million in 2010.
The fact that these trend lines are going up rather than down is completely unacceptable in an age where we have more than enough resources to ensure every person in the world receives the food they need.
Why doesn't the world feel more urgency to address this global public health emergency? We need action now, especially when we have a simple treatment that can prevent the deaths of the up to two million children who die of hunger every year.

2023 was the deadliest year on record for humanitarian workers, and this year could be even worse.
Today on #WorldHumanitarianDay, I'm grateful to humanitarian workers around the world, especially those who put their lives at risk to deliver essential services to those in need.
I'm particularly thankful to my colleagues at the Movement Against Malnutrition and the International Rescue Committee. Humanitarian workers are critical to delivering life-saving treatment to children dying of hunger.

On #WorldHumanitarianDay, a reminder that aid workers are operating under extremely volatile conditions globally. Gaza, Sudan, South Sudan and Mali are but a few examples.
Humanitarian workers are not and should never be a target. Our statement: rescue.org/press-release/irc…
I traveled to the border of Sudan & South Sudan earlier this year, witnessing the catastrophic impact of the world’s largest displacement crisis, with a particularly devastating effect on children. This month marks a year since the start of the most recent Sudan conflict.
More than 9 million from Sudan have fled their homes. 4 million children are malnourished. Almost 5 million are on the brink of famine.
But not nearly enough aid is arriving. The Movement Against Malnutrition & @RESCUEorg staff have been bravely working to respond.
No child should die of hunger. But tragically up to 2 million die every year from acute malnutrition, even though a simple treatment exists to save their lives.
That's why @RESCUEorg launched the Movement Against Malnutrition, a bold new venture to ensure no child dies of hunger
We've recently launched our website--www.movementagainstmalnutrition.org-- to share more about our vision. If you want to supporting our work to prevent children from dying of hunger, or know someone who is, please reach out. It will take a movement to end this global injustice.
