I find it significant that the most AI-pilled people I know use AI for basically everything…except for writing It’s remarkably consistent. Why? Because to write is to think. And outsourcing your critical thinking to AI is intellectual suicide

A lot of guys saying that they have matches that are not interested. Okay true! But if you ask her out within a few messages ( a bit of banter is fine) you will quickly weed out uninterested women and will get more dates overall with less time wasted.

I think if you match with them on a dating app they have sufficent indication that you’re interested!

Okay wait, nvm I heard a clip of his voice. He’s gay right? Texting a gay friend to confirm…
I need to know how Elizabeth Holmes bagged a younger, better-looking, rich husband while she was already headed for prison and despite being chopped. Is he just really air-headed or?

Overall WASP culture is too dry for me, but they did cook with “never complain, never explain” and their general disdain for self-promotion

Only two weeks left to lock in on brushing up on my abysmal high school spanish before my Argentina trip. I’ve got “dos cervezas por favor” on lock though.

Everyone’s fighting me in the comments on this one but it’s this easy 😭
The worst part of dating as a decisive high-agency woman is that you have spend so much time waiting around for a man to do something- ask for your number, ask you out, make a plan, keep said plan. And so many of them are so slow with what should be a 5 minute process max

I love that Halloween is immediately followed by daylight saving time. First we confront our mortality, then we fiddle with the microwave.

I’m so glad they were able to add translations to twitter and provide us with global access to cute dog posts 🥰

Thinking about things like "notary public," "body politic," phrases where English puts the modifier after the noun like a Romance language. There must be some other examples

The average process is: way to many messages before they ask you for your number, they make a vague plan but the date, time, place are not locked in until days later (if at all), 40-50% chance they flake day of but ask you to reschedule and are surprised when you say no.

A lot of people are like “you should ask them out” but this is bad advice unless you’re super non-traditional, and seeing if they’re quick and/or decisive is actually a pretty good filter for their level of interest and general competence. Huge time waster though.

A huge part of why formal education works is the "formal": accountability structures, classmates you want to see, teachers you don't want to disappoint. You need all of that if you want completion rates above 10%.
There is something worth investigating around the failures of MOOCs. The idea is so good: Anyone can take a harvard course! I myself took many, then mostly lost interest in the format, and began instead to just do the readings in the syllabi without watching the lecture.
