#LautBercerita
A story about lost activists during the Soeharto regime.
Grounded direction and a strong ending, though the film could use a tighter runtime. The lead character's purpose is still worth exploring: what exactly did he do?

Sudanese refugees resettle in the United States, carrying their past with them as they try to build something new.
A harrowing opening, but the film tells a deeply human story about sacrifice and the bonds people will give up everything for.

A group of convicts tends a garden that becomes a source of national pride.
Still rough around the edges, despite its potential.

A lawyer defends a Black father who takes revenge on the two white men who raped and left his daughter for dead.
Brilliant dialogue between the lawyer and his clients, sharp in how it confronts racial tension and conflict.

Special shout-out untuk Tissa Biani yang sudah sabar menunggu sejak 2021, saat pertama kali kami berencana membuat live action Oki dan Nirmala. Thank you ya Tissa! You were born to play Nirmala. I can't think of anyone else who could play this role! ❤️ #OkiNirmala

A pesugihan curse haunts a Chinese family, and only the support of his friends can break it.
Too talkative and weighed down by exposition & so many characters.

#Whalefall
A diver is swallowed by a giant whale while searching for his dying father's remains, and must survive on the air he has left.
A bit gruesome, but the biggest problem is that I couldn't relate to the protagonist.

Grown siblings are forced to share a week under one roof after their father's death & must work through decades of old conflicts and tensions.
Well written & directed. An enjoyable family drama where every encounter earns its place.

A kidnapper grabs the wrong child, mistaking him for a mayoral candidate's son.
Too similar in premise to #Highest2Lowest, and undone by an ending that never gets the setup it needs.

#EastOfEden
Based on Steinbeck's novel, three generations carry the shadow of Cain and Abel, their sibling rivalries playing out as tragedy.
Ambitious with dialogue worth hearing — worth watching, but it ends without landing the final blow.

Dipastikan menembus angka 400 ribuan (bahkan mungkin merapat 500 ribu) di akhir hari Minggu.
Dan dengan demikian jadi kandidat film sejuta berikutnya.

A grizzled pilot is called back to train the next generation for a near-impossible attack run against an enemy facility.
It nods to the origin with genuine respect, then earns its own ground with brilliant dogfights & real emotional weight.
