Yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of my article on ZCASH.
Congrats @Zcash @zooko @evansforbes and everyone who built this important protocol the last decade.

Ten years ago today I wrote a blog post entitled "Zcash begins", announcing the genesis block of the Zcash blockchain: web.archive.org/web/20180810… ⤵️
What if your notes, ideas, and projects could work together as a second brain?
@andr9froes will host @lorington, co-founder of Lytefire, and @iggynore, CTO at Flow, for a session on second brain architecture and practical tools. They’ll also share a customizable GitHub starter repo to help you get started.
Tomorrow, October 29, 12pm (BRT) .

A useful second brain should help me pick up a line of thought I left unfinished. It should remember why I cared and what shaped my decisions.
I don't want a stranger who needs me to explain my motives all over again.

Zcash turns ten on October 28. Crazy that we still need to defend private money, considering all money was private before crypto was born.
We created something creepy called money on transparent blockchains, and it's time it disappeared, as all bad ideas should.
We need private, fast, encrypted, AI- and quantum-resistant money. Zcash is not quite there yet, but it has a stellar, fast-moving team that's all in.
Don't like it? Not your tribal coin? Show me the roadmap, history and commits of your devs and change my mind. Will it really survive what's coming?
While you gather the data, I'm preparing for the 10th birthday party!! Cheers.
You should be able to prove you belong to a community without giving a stranger your full profile.
A zero-knowledge proof can verify that you're on its membership list without revealing which member you are.
The information a business really needs is usually very different from the information it collects. And when it gets pwned, that's what leaks.

Second brain, exocortex, digital assistant, life OS, there are so many names for this kind of system and I'm really excited to dig into it with the @ipecity community 🚀🫶
We all want AI to help us learn faster and turn ideas into action. A second brain can make it more useful by giving it context from your own knowledge and projects.
This Thursday, join our @ipecity Community Assembly with Lorin (@lorington) and Iggy (@iggynore) for practical approaches and tools to build your own second brain.

Yeah, we just crossed 500+ Beta testers on InstallOpenClaw.xyz try it out.
If changing your mind would cost you your place in a community, I would seriously consider leaving.
I'd rather belong to a group that seeks truth and doesn't cling to dogma.

Cross community techno-pollination let's go!
How would you build a second brain around your own knowledge and workflows?
Join @lorington and @iggynore at Ipê’s next Community Assembly to explore that question, with control over your knowledge as a guiding principle.
Our assembly will have two parts:
- Learners · @lorington
Lorin will share the architecture and design philosophy behind his second brain, built from years of journals, essays, and personal notes. He’ll also share a customizable GitHub starter repository to help you build your own.
- Builders · @iggynore
Iggy, from the Ipê community, will explore tools and practical choices for building a setup that works for you.
Bring your questions, share what you’ve been building, and join the community discussion.

I've spent the past 10 months building my personal AI assistant with OpenClaw, and I can't imagine working without it now.
Next Thursday, we're bringing together two great builders, @lorington and @iggynore , to share practical advice on building your own second brain. Join us!

Yesterday the Zcash Foundation board named me Executive Director. Thank you to Alex for steady leadership through a tumultuous stretch, and to everyone who has reached out this week.
The job as I see it has two halves: 1) keep the infrastructure fast, secure, and boring. 2) make privacy something ordinary people use without having to think about it.
I don’t think privacy is a feature, and I don’t think it’s a niche. It’s the room a society needs to think, speak, associate, and change its mind. Any system people depend on for daily life should give them that room by default. That’s the standard I’ll hold our work to.

Tomorrow we take off for Austin to start filming my new documentary, Learning Without Permission.
We'll visit nearly 10 cities across the US, followed by a second trip through Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and talk to dozens of builders pioneering new education models.
I'll be sharing the journey here.
Let's go!
When talent negotiates as a community, rather than one person at a time, that’s when network societies shine.
A group bringing businesses and investment can negotiate for the conditions its members need to build, with something concrete to offer in return.
