How I landed my junior developer role in 2024:
- Almost 600 applications, half spontaneous applications, in 3 months. My job search was mostly with Glassdoor, Indeed, and remote job boards. I used the company website and email to send my applications. I didn't use LinkedIn as I noticed how the job market is saturated there and the roles have thousands of applications.
- Around 200 rejections and 15 interviews.
- I got 3 offers from spontaneous applications and landed my first role as a backend developer.
I studied Java, but none of my offers were in Java. I didn't focus on one specific language, and I was open to trying new things, which eventually, with a lot of effort and a bit of luck, was my winning formula.
I hope this can help some newbies out there for the new year ✨
Hey everyone! It's been a while.. More that six months not coming here 🙈 A lot has happen.. Hope everyone is doing well!
Happy thursday ✨ Starting the day with a tea as I'm super tired today but will try to do my best. Let's go ✌🏽
Today is a big today ✨✨ I will be meeting in person for the first time some of my colleagues as all the team will meet up to discuss the backend challenges and plan the this year ahead. I'm a bit nervous but also excited with what comes next 💪🏽
80% of my time as a developer is finding the bug and the rest is questioning myself "what is going here.. send help for god sake"
Happy Monday 🌞 What a busy day. Took Ben to the vet and finally got a solution for a bug that I was going crazy about over the last few weeks. Now working on the tests and going to pilates later ✌🏽
Last year, I got overwhelmed with so many topics I wanted to learn for the first half of the year, so at some point I couldn't study for like 10 minutes straight without feeling exhausted. I took a pause but I want to be slowly back and my first goal is learning AWS:
Happy friday ✨
I've been a bit demotivated and low energy over the last few days, not sure why but the beginning of the new year it's been hard on me.
Small wishes for 2025 ✨✨
- Less overthinking
- Less imposter syndrome
- More consciousness
- More rest
My 2024:
- Finished my bootcamp
- Did my career transition to software developer
- Visited a few countries from my bucket list
- Deployed my first website
- Learned Node and Typescript and finished two work projects that I'm proud of
- Got my ear-piercing after many years without it (today 🙈)
It was a bit intense year for me, so my wish for 2025 is more rest and peace ✨
