you can really remix everything now think about it

Vibe coding CRM is totally doable. Anyone who told you you need Salesforce or other complicated CRM to run your business is wrong at this point. The more fair point is, if your company is legacy and has been running on Salesforce, you will continue to do so. That's more true. If your company is new from day 1, you would be out of your mind to adopt Salesforce rather than asking AI to program your own data/opportunity/deal data model that fits your own business. Integrations are not that hard either with API, CLI, MCP, connectors. We just live in a new world. Let's face it.

This is a bitter pill to swallow after spending 10+ years coding. But you can either be the person clinging to the reins of their horse or the person who steps into a car because they see driving as the future.
coding is officially solved there is literally no reason to ever write code again it’s over

AI has reached "spooky" levels with Opus 5.5, I get this most strongly watching agents coordinate

why do we care about code quality more than software quality?

People seem shocked that the author of Clean Code doesn't read code anymore. But that should not be surprising. Why did I write Clean Code? What is the goal of keeping code clean? To get it out of the way of the real job -- thinking.

It's not that I don't care about the code, but I care about the product more. Most code drives products that shouldn't exist

This exchange looks at how different things motivate different developers. I never really cared about the code, or the journey, just the ability to clearly communicate my intent. To Create. I thought developers just liked being god.
I look at it differently I think most people I knew got into the industry because they really liked coding. Now that AI is in the process of affecting every part of that industry its not the ego that is being shattered but process of the craft we got paid to do and loved is being shattered. But of course I think there is many things to be excited about and I do think that even though the old way is going to fade out over the years for the majority of programmers, there is still so much amazing things you can do. Not a doomer

My experience talking to people who confidently say current AI models are useless for their job or research is that if I sit down with them and spend 30 to 60 minutes vibe coding with them with a frontier model they change their mind 180 degrees": "Holy S***it this is more progress in a single sitting than I've made in months". I don't mean random people, but university professors and people in industry at a high-level. I realize this might not sound very credible: "Andrés, do you really have the occasion to do this?" Haha, yeah, I do. Of course my disarming friendliness is OP in this case, as I don't think your typical AI cheerleader would get the chance to do this. But the friendliness is not the takeway - that's just the way on. The main takeaway is that most often confident claims about the lack of usability of the tech is more a reflection of ego/insecurity around the topic than real object-level commentary on the tools. E.g. A university professor I sat down with recently was confident AI was useless on the basis that the automatic Gemini answers when you Google something were sometimes incorrect. They somehow (?) thought this was a reflection of what AI could do? It had never occurred to them to upload their dozens of published papers and asking the AI to recreate the statistical analysis pipeline from scratch and create the visualizations they always wanted to make but didn't know enough R to code them up themselves. You can bet a large % of commentary on AI capabilities being overblown is exactly this.

More valuable than ever to convert tacit knowledge to written instructions. Aka, teaching

I just fixed my dishwasher with the help of ChatGPT. A trivial task. I had been about to order a new one. So this software has increased the country's real wealth yet decreased the measured GDP. The main economic indicator is structurally incapable of registering the thing that actually makes people better off, namely the growth of knowledge
