Corruption is not a problem……it is THE PROBLEM!

Planned maintenance, gas supply constraint & transmission line sabotage caused electricity supply disruptions. If these risks are known why did NISO approve outage at Egbin without requisite supply backup? Policy alone changes nothing. Clinical execution and technicality does. Despite the grandeur ambitions and political showmanship in the NESI, the ultimate priority for NESI is to secure the reliability &availability of our current available. The scorecard for today is F!

The first step of solving a problem is its acknowledgement. The trivialization & normalization of corruption is a major issue in Nigeria. It allows corruption to persist as the main impediment of socioeconomic development of 🇳🇬.

1. Which project(s) are these “containers” for? NIPP? Without proper audit, we may just be releasing scrap. 2. Control cards, Electronics, relays, capacitors, VTs, CTs and other power engineering equipment from 20years ago, if not obsolete, firmware will be outdated and mostly useless. 3. These things require climate control storage systems and not containers that have been under scorching sun and rain. 3. About 13 years ago, I was called into an effort to get some stranded power equipment released, inspected and certify for use. It all died down after some time with no tailwind 4. At this point, it is too late IMHO! This is one thing that Yar Adua government got wrong.

I hope he knows that 2030 is only 40months from now. How many did we add in last 4 years? 700MW But he is targeting ~100x in the next 4yrs.
