God is not exhausted, discouraged or disgusted by how much, after all these years, we still need him.
My dad took my brother and me to see Jurassic Park in the theater when I was 10. I was MESMERIZED. This score was enrapturing. When I think about what it will be like to explore heaven someday, I imagine it with this soundtrack playing.

If you’re unwilling to offend others, you’re not fit for ministry.
If you’re eager to offend others, you’re not fit for ministry.
“There is [a] gravity inherent in human sin, a kind of entropy in human nature which guarantees That the vigor of spiritual life will constantly run down unless it is renewed through the channel of dependent prayer.”

need to go a lot deeper than that.”

As touchable and tastable as bread and wine, so tangible and real is the love of Christ for sinners.
As inseparable as consumed bread and wine are from the body, so enmeshed is Jesus with his disciples by the Spirit.

“Life is more than food and the body more than clothing.” Lk 12:23
I needed to be reminded of this today. It’s so easy to get lost in the hubbub of life.
“Don’t strive for what you should eat and what you should drink, and don’t be anxious… But seek the kingdom.” Lk 12:29,31

In several Bible studies but serving nobody? You may be over-churched and under-deployed, spiritually constipated and bloated.
“The world will ultimately become whole through grace. In the meantime, God invites us to anticipate that future by being people rooted in love, through forgiveness.”

Maaannnn...I'm preaching the Mephibosheth story tomorrow (2 Sam. 9) and it's got me about ready to shout!
Bible scholars, is there an echo of 2 Samuel 9 (David and Mephibosheth) in Matthew 15:21-28 (Jesus and the Canaanite woman)?
There's the language of dogs in both passages, and both stories involve welcoming outsiders to a table.
Thoughts?
