Mark William Wright GC
Cpl Wright was killed in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, on the 6th Sept 2006, after entering a minefield in an attempt to save the lives of other injured soldiers. His actions were posthumously recognised with the award of the George Cross on 14th December 2006, and gazetted the next day.
Cpl Wright had served in the 3rd Battalion, Parachute Regiment in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Yesterday - The 41st Anniv of the Falkland Islands Liberation. In 1982 British Armed Forces liberated the Falkland Islands from occupation. The day is celebrated annually as a public holiday in the Falkland Islands & honours the Islanders’ right to self-determination. 💪🟦 🟩

UPDATE: In April, 3 PARA 🟩 Deployed forward to Sudan to help evacuees as RAF C130 Hercules and A400MS flew entitled persons out of Sudan. The Paras planned options that included a Bn Parachute drop to secure an airfield in the event of the situation deteriorating. 💪🇬🇧🆎🟩
