Rory McIlroy: "They took players, they took sponsors, they turned professional golf into an arms race. They were going around Augusta this year saying they want to destroy the European Tour." Rory McIlroy discusses LIV Golf’s impact on the men’s professional game ⬇️ Thoughts? 👀

I’ve seen some Rangers fans gloating about beating us yesterday, but deep down they must be worried. We’re a terrible team with an awful manager, we had five defenders out and a sixth joined them in the first ten minutes, and we played a midfielder at right back; yet it took a contentious late winner to beat us. A decent Rangers team would’ve given us four or five.

Testimony to @carnoustiecntry and all the clubs and caddies that make this part of Angus (and Dundee ) @Visit_Angus special !
The gates are closed. The 2026 caddie season is now officially over. What an incredible year it's been. The course, as always, has delivered in spades. What a privilege it truly is to walk her every day. On a personal note it's been extra special for me. It's been a different year. I wrote the book. The social media stuff. The people coming up to me to shake my hand and tell me they love the content. Telling the visitors' stories. I have had some incredible rounds. The Virginia heart surgeon who was so nervous he could barely put the ball in the ground. Ric Foley, the 74 year old Canadian who had always dreamed of playing Carnoustie. Many father and son trips. Memories made, moments lived and good times had. Some great golf seen, and some terrible golf as well. The putts off the green into bunkers, and the chips from 50 yards for the most outrageous pars. There's nothing quite like spending 4.5 hours with people who are literally living their dream. They say find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life. Well, I can attest to that. It takes a lot to make a golf course work. From the COO to the caddies, the greenkeepers to the rangers and concierge. Carnoustie is one of the most famous courses in all the world. But for us it's home. It's a community. People who live in the town. A special thanks from me has to go to the girls in the caddie office, Rod the assistant caddie master, and Ailsa Roy, our caddie master. Ailsa does a sometimes thankless job. It can be difficult and stressful, a bit like herding cats. Her defence and support for me was resolute. The books, the social media, the requests. It's been a period of adjustment, feeling our way around it. But at the times it mattered she had my back, as she has done many times in the past. She's a caddie master that looks after her caddies. Through the good times and the bad. I simply can't thank her enough. And again, I must pay tribute to my fellow caddies. I have caddied in pro events, and at a number of courses. The standard and quality of caddie at Carnoustie is exceptional. Great men and women, great caddies and great friends. The caddies are a big part of what makes this such a special place to work. Hire a caddie. They will improve your round and your experience no end. So if you're coming next year, we already can't wait to welcome you. Golf in Scotland is everything you've dreamed it would be. Bring your favourite people and come and have the experience of a lifetime. A trip you'll relive for the rest of your days.

A submarine heading up the Forth this morning. Photo taken from Newhaven, Edinburgh towards Fife. The three tower blocks on the right are on the seafront in Kirkcaldy. Kinghorn right behind the sub. I always find submarines a bit sinister...

A cool aspect of the Walker Cup. All 20 players, from both sides, are assigned local caddies. (They'll need them this week at Lahinch!)

Great to see the #dundee derby back. A reignited affair helped no end by Pressleys candid assessment here too. Brilliant @DundeeFC
This mad bastard is going to land a big job in Scottish football before the end of the season if Dundee keep this up. Canny help but admire it

Update: The Open has generated £200,000,073 for the local economy 😉 Best of luck to your lad @Ellispropserv 🏌️‍♂️
Replying to @LCRMayor
I'll be spending about £73 on a Premier Inn for me and the lad Steve, he's playing in the Royal Birkdale Junior Open in a couple of weeks. Make sure you add that to the 200 millies.... 😂👍

One to welcome and testimony to the economic benefits of the Open to region and locale @welcometofife @InvestFife @FifeChamber
📈 Last week's Open Championship saw hundreds of thousands of visitors flock to the Liverpool City Region and injected around £200m the local economy. On the back of that success, we've signed an MoU to host at least three more championships in the region before 2050. ⛳️

Fabulous testimony to golf and the UK crowds - knowledgable, kind, patient and personable. All the traits of any #gowfer surely. Well done @royalbirkdale and #johnrahmspain !
Jon Rahm played with Tommy today. Asked about the crowd, his answer was great...

Love this small touch at The Open this week 👏 Every hole is being marshalled by members of local golf clubs, and each club is given a signpost for the hole they’re in charge of.
