this is a war crime: unlawful deportation or transfer is a grave breach of the Geneva Conventions (Article 147). it's also a war crime under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, Article 8(2)(a)(vii) and 8(2)(b)(viii), it's a crime against humanity: under Rome Statute Article 7(1)(d), deportation or forcible transfer counts as one when it's part of a widespread or systematic attack on civilians, Fourth Geneva Convention, Article 49: an occupying power may not forcibly transfer or deport protected civilians from occupied territory to its own territory, "regardless of their motive."
"forcible" doesn't only mean at gunpoint. moving people under coercion counts too, for example when ᵣussia is the only way out of a siege.

Abdul El-Sayed on the Iran war: “In one fell swoop, he puts both of the key ingredients to the industry that’s holding up the entire stock market in America at risk. We’re depleted with interceptor missiles, Taiwan has never been less secure, and the price of energy has never been higher. Fucking idiot”

Why are most media outlets saying Flávio Bolsonaro simply “left” Brazil after losing the presidential election?
He fled the country while under investigation for corruption and money laundering, defied a Supreme Court order to surrender his passports, and had his Brazilian passports revoked.
This is hardly an ordinary departure.
The same media outlets regularly use bombastic language when it’s completely unwarranted, yet choose remarkably mild language to describe something this serious.
Most people get their understanding of events from headlines before liking, commenting or sharing. Journalists have a responsibility to write headlines that accurately convey what happened, rather than leave out the most important facts.

Vindicates my insistence, back before I retired, in PVLAN isolation of IPMI/PXE for all our server gear:
‼️ Anthropic and Google researchers found a flaw that lets one crafted packet hijack a server during network boot, before Secure Boot checks the OS.
Almost all servers on earth are affected.
CVE-2026-97631 sits in TianoCore EDK II, code in the UEFI firmware of most servers.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The vulnerability is limited to servers actively PXE network-booting with vulnerable EDK II firmware; most servers boot from local disks and are unaffected in normal use, with Intel noting limited impact on supported products.

I keep coming back to this. Some of the care needs are quite high. For years on end.

I don’t think people realize the level of care required for elderly these days. People are living longer but they’re also a lot more ill. I worked as a hospice nurse and know the ins and outs of caregiving vs utilizing facilities and the associated costs.

The actual Semites are buried under the rubble in Gaza, with their remains being mixed into the foundations of Jared Kushner's new apartment complexes.
So don't ever give me that "antisemite" shit when I'm being critical of Zionism or Israel.

Reality is finally crashing down on the Kremlin: Trump can't deliver the easy capitulation putin was banking on.
In a telling moment of backdoor realisation, putin’s top aide, Yuri Ushakov, just exposed Moscow's deep desperation. He admits that dealing strictly with Trump and his real estate “diplomats”, isn't working because Trump can't just bully Kyiv into submission. Instead, Russia is finally forced to accept a hard truth: they have to deal with a united Europe that stands firmly behind Ukraine. Desperate for progress, Moscow now wants Europe at the table—proving once and for all that Trump's 'magic wand' has completely failed.
Pavel Zarubin: “Is such an option possible, if Zelensky continues to behave insolently toward the American administration, that the American administration will simply dictate and force him to make the decisions that the American administration considers correct?”
Yuri Ushakov: “Well, you understand, even earlier there was an impression after Anchorage, too, that the American administration could dictate something like that and force Kyiv to fulfill it. But so far this hasn't quite worked out, because it's not enough to talk only with Kyiv; one needs to talk with the whole of Europe, which fully supports Kyiv, and perhaps Europe's position here is of a key character.”
U.S. Senate candidate @AbdulElSayed on not identifying as DSA: "I believe in capitalism, and I think capitalism works well to allocate resources in a market. And I think if you look at where we are right now, we don't live in capitalism. We live in corporatism."

It should be far bigger news that Trump is openly using Nazi rhetoric at his rallies, and that his party is therefore—under his leadership—a Nazi party. It means anyone who votes Republican is voting for a Nazi party.
If you've watched his rallies, you know this is fact.
