Today 27th September 2024, we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the European Court of Human Rights ruling which led to the lifting of THE GAY BAN in the UK Armed Forces. Yesterday, I, along with 24 other @RoyalAirForce Veterans, with family, friends, loved ones and current serving personnel attended RAF Cranwell for the Royal Air Force Restorative Measures Presentation - which came out the Lord Ethertons recommendations from his report on LGBT Veterans serving between 1967 - 2000. We were handed a written reproduction of the PM's apology from July 2023, written apology from Air Marshall Sir Rich Knighton - Chief of Air Staff, an updated "Cleared Certificate of Service", a Beret with Cap Badge as well as the Etherton Ribbon. Thank you to the Royal Air Force Inclusion Team, Restorative Measurers Officer, @RAF_LGBT Air Vice-Marshal @SimonEdwardsRAF (Director of People) and especially Lord Etherton who came personally to present us. Such a heartwarming, emotional day - a day, I never thought would happen. It was lovely to be around so many LGBT Veterans who, over the last few years, thanks to @fightingwpride we have become close friends Caroline Paige Andrew Hartle Ken Wright Steve Purves Tim Hooley Charlie Brown Graeme Grady, John Beckett & others. As you know, the fight for all the recommendations is far from over, we still have work to do.... But as for yesterday, I feel there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I am PROUD to have served XxX

Poppy & Violet need a new home, #guineapig sisters both around 1 year old. Both are very timid so will need patience and a quiet home. Details on our website soon- bleakholt.org/lancashire-ani… 🐾 #AdoptDontShop #guineapigs #wednesdaythought

It was very cold, and to keep themselves warm they sang Pooh’s song right through six times, Piglet doing the tiddlely-poms and Pooh doing the rest of it, and both of them thumping on the top of the gate with pieces of stick at the proper places. ~A.A.Milne #cold #winter #snow
