Boom placed in Wealdstone Brook (by the mural bridge in the park) to capture a polluting oil. If dislodged, please contact @thameswater urgently. #cleanwealdstonebrook
CAMELLIA is running a stand at FloodEx. Come and visit us and see what tools and products we’ve developed to support community water management.

Performance of rainwater harvesting over last 3 months at our inner city house. Some interesting insights: using rainwater for indoor uses = no overflow to stormwater as storage draws down prior to rainfall and > 80% reduced mains water use. Also the garden 🪴 has new plants

This solution feature near Bradfield is much better exposed & well known, with the Chalk #aquifer penetrated by the overlying sandy Lambeth Group. Wonder what other features influencing local #groundwater behaviour we just don’t see🤔

Solution pipe filled by Clay-with-Flints & capped with chalk Head deposits near Ashampstead. Not commonly seen but illustrates how the properties of the Chalk #aquifer, and #groundwater, can be influenced at local scales

💧Whats the role of #groundwater in the water cycle? We used to assess groundwater & surface water separately but they are both intrinsically linked within the #WaterCycle

The average person thinks about water for 10 minutes every year. On @UN_Water #WorldWaterDay take 1 of those minutes to think about what water is worth to you - it really is the world's most precious resource
Good to see this important document out in the public domain and providing practical recommendations for addressing the impacts from too little or too much water.
We will be posting key points from the new #BricksAndWater: Building resilience for England's homes report throughout the day. Read the report at tinyurl.com/y3lwwf9o
Our work in CAMELLIA (bit.ly/2HcJ60N) has identified water quality and the need for concerted action to address this as key community concerns. We are working on with our project partners to achieve this.
We’re pleased to be working with MP @Dunne4Ludlow on his Bill to improve the quality of England’s inland waters (bit.ly/3o3iTSU) & to be working with the water industry, developing integrated & community-based solutions to address this challenge.
