Rights cannot be negotiated. They simply are. Any attempt to negotiate them -- for "safety", for instance, or (more often) for some pointless comfort -- is simply allowing others to infringe your rights. Any negotiation is capitulation.
new rule:
From now on, everyone who talks about how badly US citizens outnumber and outgun literally every fucking conventional military in the damned world, put together, should adopt a new policy of imagining what that really means when saying it.
In that moment, think about the possibility of having to fight law enforcement in the US in some potential near-future world. Think about it hard, and commit yourself to honestly assessing your willingness to follow through. Imagine yourself with a tourniquet around your thigh as you keep your head down behind a concrete-walled planter with a tree in it on the sidewalk, shooting back at feds who were told to go attack private, peaceful citizens.
If you can imagine that and still honestly talk about how many guns US citizens have, congratulations. You might not be just some loudmouth asshole. I commend your determination, and I hope we come out the other side of whatever's happening next.
It's both fatuous nonsense and (whether intentionally or not) also a way to skirt stupid laws. In other news, I don't trust BCA any more than SIG.

I think 99.9% of y’all are really missing a major point with federal elections:
They were never intended to affect you like this.
The issue isn’t just the DNC/RNC/Dems/GOP.
The issue is that the size and scope of the federal government has far outgrown the Constitution.

I’ve been thinking about how the Boomers fought so hard to not be drafted themselves into the Vietnam War only to be overwhelmingly supportive of other generations having to go fight wars they happily voted for.
It’s perplexing until you realize that they’re never beating the stereotype of “the most selfish generation.”

The self-described small-limited government Republicans had a $7.4 trillion "budget" for fiscal year 2026 that included $2 trillion in deficit spending.
The largest in world history.
The next "budget" with Democrats in control of Congress will be much larger than that.
There is no stopping this runaway train.

I’m a reformed neocon. I went to a George W. Bush rally in Phoenix in August at 9 months pregnant with my first kid.
Then I saw my parents laughing at someone on the debate stage on the TV talking about how we shouldn’t go to war so carelessly because the wars never end.
That was Ron Paul. He was right.
I’ve never gone back. Killing innocent people is never okay. Saying you’re pro-life but accepting aggressive “preemptive” wars is not a consistent stance.
Just like we don’t accept the actions of our government, other countries don’t accept the actions of their own.
Murdering innocent people by proxy through the government does not make it ok.

Young white males went heavily for Democrats last night. A reversal of 2024.
Maybe pricing them out of housing and marriage through inflationary policies while telling them to pick themselves up by the bootstraps and advising them to eat Ramen noodles 3 times a day wasn't a winning message??

Instead of correcting course, the GOP chose to shoot the messenger and double down on stupid. (This tweet is one year old tomorrow.)

It's all by design.
•Dems push stupid bills like they're out of their freaking mind.
•Republicans collect campaign money to "beat" them.
•Republicans do nothing when they're in power because they're ultimately cashing the same checks.
•Democrats win.
The cycle repeats.

Tonight’s outcome isn’t about placing faith in Democrats or socialist principles; it’s about holding Republicans accountable for betraying their promises.
All Republicans had to do was:
1. put Americans First
2. not start another war
3. prosecute sex traffickers

A drunk woman pulls a KNIFE on customers inside a Florida Dollar General. She picked the wrong store.
Two armed shoppers draw their guns and make her SIT on the curb until deputies arrive.
POLK COUNTY SHERIFF: “This is the RIGHT WAY a firearm was used to protect themselves.”
Turns out she was in the country illegally.
Inside the store, she waves the knife around, threatens customers, and stabs a soda bottle. By the time deputies pull up, she’s already sitting on the curb with a gun pointed at her.
Sheriff Grady Judd praised the citizens who stepped in:
“They have the right to protect themselves and the community from this assault.”
She now faces aggravated assault, disorderly intoxication, and theft. Of the soda bottle.
Judd sent a message to every illegal alien in Florida:
“Maybe you act that way in Colombia, but you don’t act that way in Florida and you sure don’t act that way in Polk County or we’ll pull our guns on you here.”
No shots fired. Nobody hurt.
That’s what responsible armed citizens look like.

Let the women have a turn with the rifle as well. That our children may survive and be better men and women than we.
