SORRY IF THIS OFFENDS PRINTER COMPANIES, BUT I'M DONE. I bought a printer for $89. It came with "starter" ink that lasted about 3 weeks. The replacement ink set was $112. The ink cost MORE than the printer. So the printer isn't the product. It's just a coupon for buying ink at whatever price they decide. I checked if I could use cheaper third party cartridges. The printer rejected them. Error message and everything. I own the printer. I bought it. I paid for it. And it still won't let me choose what to put in it. THAT'S NOT A PRODUCT. THAT'S A SUBSCRIPTION THAT YOU HAVE TO CARRY HOME.

Finland just pushed electricity through open air. No cable. First ever nation to achieve this. Researchers at the University of Helsinki and the University of Oulu fired high-intensity ultrasonic waves to carve an invisible channel through the air, then guided a spark down it. Lasers handle the rest. Power-by-light beams energy to receivers where you really don't want a conductor: nuclear plants, high-voltage stations. Radio-frequency harvesting pulls microwatts from ambient waves, enough to retire millions of disposable sensor batteries.

🚨: We can see 46 billion light-years in every direction ─ in a universe which is 13.8 billion years old. Meaning something is out there moving away from us faster than light itself.

This is what Voter Suppression looks like in 2026. GOP-controlled election boards in North Carolina declined to put an early-voting site back on the campus of North Carolina A&T after students had one in 2024. So these patriots marched nearly an hour in the heat to reach the polls on the first day of early voting. And they voted. Make it harder and we’ll still show up.

Trump is going to host the G20 at Maralago. Taxpayers are going to pay millions of dollars to upgrade Maralago for security reasons and Trump will enjoy those upgrades for years to come. Just more Trump corrupt grifting.

NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE STOP GOING TO THE DOCTOR… Got my daughter’s checkup bill this morning. 15 minutes. No tests. No prescription. $365. I pay $638 a month for health insurance. That’s $7,656 a year before my family even sees a doctor. Then I actually use the insurance and get another bill. So I’m paying thousands every year just to be insured… Then paying again when I need healthcare? WHERE IS ALL THAT MONEY GOING? I’ll shut up and listen.

My coworker's lease ended yesterday, so he went to return his 2023 base-model sedan. He signed that lease three years ago with a $280 monthly payment. When he sat down with the fleet manager to look at leasing the exact same 2026 entry-level trim, the new offer came back at $520 a month with $2,500 down. He looked at the manager and said: "My salary went up 8% over the last three years, but the monthly cost to lease the exact same entry-level car doubled?" The manager leaned over his desk and quietly said: "Car companies don't make money selling $25,000 basic sedans anymore. They intentionally discontinued low-trim models to force everyone into $45,000 tech-loaded crossover SUVs." He checked the inventory sheet: out of 140 vehicles on the lot, only 3 were under $30,000. We didn't just experience price inflation in the auto market. Automakers intentionally eliminated affordable entry-level options to destroy the budget tier and force the entire middle class into luxury-level monthly debt.

🤬🤬😤My wife takes her 2023 RAV4 to the dealership for a recall service. This was for an airflow sensor After finishing they come out and tell her that her horn isn’t functioning and that it would be $145 to diagnose the issue + labor and parts to repair Mind you she knows for a fact that the horn worked this morning The techs specifically said “we checked all the connections and so it’s not that” I told her to decline and bring it home Mind you this is so unlikely to be anything other than a fuse or the fact that they unplugged it and forgot to plug it back in or worse, straight up scamming After testing the fuse and the relay, as well as the clock spring, I take the radiator cover off to inspect the plugs at the horn and what do you know both horns are unplugged The airflow sensor is nowhere near these plugs so there’s zero chance these were taken off as part of the job not to mention they said they “checked the plugs” It’s also impossible they both happen to vibrate loose @Toyota I buy a brand new car from you and this is how you treat us?? This was at Toyota of Santa Cruz Stealership @SantaC_Toyota

Biggest "the kids are fucked" realization I've had lately was when I went to buy a vehicle.  Walked straight into the dealership, specified what I wanted, and told them I was paying cash up-front. I genuinely expected them to be excited.  Instead, they were annoyed. Spent the next half hour trying to push me into financing it at some ridiculous interest rate.  It got me curious, so when I got home I looked up how modern auto dealerships actually generate revenue. Turns out most US dealerships pull in far more profit from kickbacks on high-interest loans than from selling the actual cars.  I was so naive I thought cash was still king.  In reality they want your ETERNAL SLAVERY at 19% APR.

My sister's longtime dentist practice got bought out by a private equity-backed dental group four months ago. Same office. Same hygienists. Same chairs. Zero new equipment. Last week they sent the new fee schedule for anyone with insurance. A routine cleaning that used to run $120 is now billed at $310, with the group quietly dropping several insurance plans they used to accept. When patients asked why, the new regional manager gave a scripted line about "aligning with market standards." Private equity figured out the same trick everywhere. They're buying up the things you can't opt out of: dental, veterinary care, urgent care, hospice, because they know you can't just skip your kid's cavity or your dog's surgery. This isn't inflation. It's leveraged debt getting loaded onto places you have no choice but to keep paying.

I have a question! Why hasn’t the guy that won a no bid contract for the reflecting pool, not been back to fix his mess? $14 million? I think I’d’ve asked for a warranty.

Chief Justice John Roberts Shunned by His Neighbors as Backlash Over Pro-Fascist, Cruel, and Sadistic Trump Rulings Grows Chief Justice John Roberts is being frozen out on the Maine island where he has summered for more than 20 years. Neighbors who once shared lobster dinners with him now keep their distance, skip gatherings, or show up to protest his rulings. The break tracks the court's 2022 barbaric decision overturning Roe v. Wade and Roberts' 2024 opinion granting Donald Trump the same kind of broad immunity from prosecution that other authoritarian tyrants enjoy. Kayakers hold signs a few hundred yards from his house. "Roberts Benched the Constitution" appears on local roads. On Monhegan Island, people who recognized him chanted that he should be ashamed. Longtime friends have pulled back. Members of a local cigar club skipped this summer's gatherings so they would not have to sit with Roberts and his wife. "It's harder for him to feel comfortable approaching people — and vice versa," said Mary Anne Mason, a former law partner. His security detail has grown. He used to linger on the dock after church; on protest days he stays away. Wendy Schlotterbeck, a longtime neighbor, said she wanted to ask him directly: "Do you realize what your decisions are doing to my family and my community?" A recent Gallup poll put the fascist-friendly Roberts Supreme Court's approval at a record low of 33% — which is still 33% higher than it should be.

This is called election interference and it’s illegal.
🚨 Donald Trump said North Carolina would get disaster aid only if Republican Michael Whatley won the election. Helene killed 107 people in the state.
