After Elon Musk posted on X saying he had throttled Ukraine’s use of Starlink after it was used for offensive attacks, House Armed Services Committee member Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) says the billionaire’s ability to wield that power is “beyond disturbing to me.”
“It cannot and should not be the case that a tech oligarch, a private citizen, who has that much control over our national security, who is unaccountable, who is unelected, with zero transparency, is making life and death decisions on the battlefield in systems that our service members and our partners and allies rely upon,” he adds.

2. Irrational tariffs - disruption of markets
3. Treasury Market pressures and interference

HW3 was sold as having all the hardware for full self driving until Tesla admitted it didn't. On that same Q1 call Musk announced AI4 Plus with double the RAM. AI4 owners are now being told the same thing HW3 owners heard for years.
HW3 owners keep asking whether v14 Lite is the real thing or a consolation prize. Months into it, here is the honest answer. It is genuinely good, and it is not the same car HW4 owners drive.
What it does best is everyday driving. Merges, forks, unprotected lefts, roundabouts, pedestrians, traffic lights, cut ins. Smoother steering, fewer false slowdowns, steadier lane centering. It parks, unparks, reverses, and lets you pick where it drops you, with Speed Profiles always on. That is a real jump from the v12 branch HW3 sat on for so long, and it is distilled from the same HW4 v14 brain, not a separate old codebase.
Where it falls short is the hard stuff. Reactions trail the full version, and the gap shows in complex edge cases, not on an easy commute. HW3 misses Automatic Collision Evasion, the feature that steers around a crash while you are driving manually. It misses the Mad Max profile and the new Smart Summon. Older S and X cars on Intel chips miss even more, no start from park, no arrival options, no reversing. Early Lite builds even had a pulsing feel owners flagged. Tesla fixed that in later builds, but it showed how tight the fit is.
That tight fit is the whole story. HW3 has about one eighth the memory bandwidth of HW4, and 1.2 megapixel cameras against HW4 5 megapixel. The modern FSD model simply does not fit on HW3 without being shrunk. That is why Lite exists, and why Musk said on the Q1 call that HW3 cannot reach unsupervised, no matter how good the software gets. V15 is headed to HW4 cars, with no Lite version announced for HW3.
So can Tesla close the gap? For supervised daily driving, mostly yes, and Lite should keep improving as HW4 teaches it. For the full HW4 experience, no. Unsupervised on this hardware is off the table, and the feature gap will widen as v15 lands.
That leaves HW3 owners three real options. Keep driving Lite, which is good and still getting better. Wait for the retrofit Musk promised to owners who bought FSD, computer and cameras both, though timing and the exact hardware are still unannounced, and he has floated skipping to the next generation computer around mid 2027. Or trade in for an HW4 car, which is the only route to unsupervised and the Q2 2027 date Ashok gave on the last call.
So HW3 owners, what is your move? Stay on Lite, wait for the retrofit, or trade up?
Both posts miss. The child death figures are model estimates, not counted deaths. BU's Impact Counter put it near 224,000 children by mid 2025. Credible but disputed and unverified. Not proven fact, and not vastly exaggerated either. The data just isn't being collected.
Hey @grok, what evidence is there that hundreds of thousands of children have died recently as a direct result of cuts to USAID? The claim sounds vastly exaggerated.

The most important thing today is that Starlink and Starshield operations have been restored to the speeds we had before the restrictions. The speeds are now where they need to be. The restoration began overnight, and by this morning, speeds were already sufficient. This matters: for our frontline logistics, for defending Ukraine against jet-powered “shaheds.”
I thank all Americans and all our partners who took this seriously and truly helped – members of Congress, senators, all the media, the State Department, and the President. Protecting lives matters.

Who are the puppet masters spending $250M on Ken Paxton - someone impeached by his fellow Republicans and turned in by his own colleagues for rampant corruption? We don’t even have to get into Paxton’s obvious lack of personal integrity…

Here are the facts: Ads were rejected on TikTok in September. Friday is when TikTok permanently suspended the film's personal account, and Bleecker Street was told the suspension is permanent. Two separate actions, never violating community guidelines. It was a deliberate suppression of free speech.
Nonetheless, MUSK is playing in theaters nationwide.
.@SenSanders, did you bother checking the facts before screaming “oligarchy”?
TikTok has prohibited paid political advertising for years. The Musk documentary distributor was cited for violating that policy. The film wasn’t banned.
Meta says No Kings was mistakenly flagged for suspicious automated activity. The account was restored.
In Brazil, Meta says many restrictions involved court orders and election rules. Other incidents were technical failures.
You lump three different situations together and blame billionaires for deliberately suppressing democracy.
Where’s the evidence they ordered it?
You’ve been in Congress for 35 years. Is this how you evaluate evidence, or do you just find a billionaire to blame?

It happens rarely to me but I know what you’re talking about and you’re right, you really get no advanced warning so always need to be paying attention (which technically you’re supposed to be doing on an L2 system).
Lucid really needs to get moving on these updates. Everything “coming soon” while you see Rivian delivering on its timelines just isn’t a good look for them. For Gravity, it’s been 67 days since the last update and 87 days since the last feature update, which is too slow.
