This is a great example of the decentralization of media consumption. It is extremely hard for a show to have this level of impact anymore. Between bingeing and YouTube/TikTok/800 other sources of streaming content, there are so few fully unified cultural moments.

It is truly fascinating to me that Zach Snyder is technically a really good director because he fully executes his vision for his films, but his vision sucks, so the movies suck. It’s like a having a football team with amazing teamwork and ability but an awful playbook.
