A lot of men dislike intelligent women not because they necessarily "feel threatened" by them, but because a certain strain of clever woman is very unpleasant. Essentially, if a high IQ woman is modest enough to be truth preferring, she will be one of the best women you ever meet. Many (although not all) of the negative representativeness heuristics you apply to women, you will find her generally exempt from, if not at the very least less inclined towards. She will be more empathetic, more understanding, harder to offend, more thoughtful, more eccentricity tolerant, and all around just a better human being - better company. But if that high IQ woman is ego governed, she will subordinate her intelligence to her ego to protect her self-esteem above all else, and thus rationalise her shortcomings, blame shift, be argumentatively uncooperative, avoid introspection, construct elaborate unflattering theories about men, and otherwise just be a total pain in the ass. So it is not intelligence specifically that men dislike and find unattractive - but women who misuse it to amplify the worst aspects of femininity rather than overcome them. Men don't dislike that you understand things, they dislike that you abuse your processing power to armour your arrogance into superficially credible arguments - they disdain your sophistry and your dysfunction - you are the unfun type of chaos. At the end of the day, being smart doesn't give you a license to be unpleasant or unfeminine. A truly wise woman knows the value of being feminine despite having a developed masculine, and conducts herself accordingly. Intelligence is not wisdom, and thus it is imperative that every smart woman pursues wisdom rather than misusing her intellect to construct an elaborate theory of everything rooted in a need to gaslight herself she is beautiful, rather than confront herself where she is not so she can become beautiful. A woman who applies her sharp intellect to becoming wise - and I mean truly wise - rather than simply creating the appearance of being wise by speaking falsehoods eloquently, will always be attractive to men - deeply so.

That last trick alone has probably cost the public speaking coaching industry a hundred million dollars in sessions clients should have skipped. "If you watched me on YouTube with the sound off, you would think I was a genius." That is Will Stephen on the TED stage, three minutes into the talk he was paid to give. He wasn't lying. Executives pay $15,000 for a keynote coach and still open with a joke the room never laughs at. Founders rehearse their pitch for weeks and still sound like Stephen at minute four, saying "wagga wah, gabba gabba" with authority. The talk is free on YouTube. The method is written across every TED speaker's playbook for ten years. Stephen still writes for Seth Meyers. Almost none of the ten million viewers have stopped nodding at empty slides since. The formula is free. The willingness to actually say something before your next keynote, pitch, or townhall is the entire edge.
