Really special day at Galveston Country Club. Small greens, lots of water and plenty of Texas golf history. 1898 founded as first private club in Texas. Wiped from the map at massive Galveston hurricane, rebuilt twice and still serving golfers and first. Fun to walk, fun walk

Always a busy season for elite amateurs. Florida amateur star Miles Russell is a WD from Spirit Amateur at Texas’ Whispering Pines GC outside Houston. Russell accepted an invite to @PGATour Austin tourney instead. He will be replaced by another US Ama on team led by Sam Saunders.

Very excited to play @GalvestonIsland Country Club today. Began in 1898 and claims to be the oldest course in Texas. Old school design. Historic feel @dallasnews @TexasGolfAssoc

No @PGATour golf today. Heavy wind and rain. But it doesn’t blow away all the great golf and sights on this island nation. Played ocean adjacent 5 Forts & scenic & challenging Tuckers Point before enjoying the @Bermuda hospitality at the Port Royal Golf Club. Come visit mon!

Wow. What a morning at Mid Ocean Club Bermuda. A CB McDonald classic being restored by architect Gil Hanse. Earlier this week before @PGATour Bermuda tourney. Greyson Sigg tied the course record at 62. Fellow player Hendrick Norlander shot a 63. I shot both much sooner on back 9

Spending couple of hours talking with famed architect @beauwelling after playing his great new Travis Club course in Austin always a treat, but topic top of my mind was would we even see his friend and co-golf designer @TigerWoods in a Tour event ever again. One of Two

His answer combined a bit of mystery & hope about golf's most dominant player. "I got out of the Tiger Woods prediction business a while ago," Welling said. "But he is a competitor and I think he will want to compete again." Woods entered the '26 US Sr. Open before his last issue

Wowsers. Fun day at Austin’s newest private golf outlet The Travis Club, a brilliant @beauwelling design on the shores of the massive Hill Country lake outside Austin. Hill Country classic golf. Bonus points for drinks with Welling after round. Man has stories and golf insight!

One of my favorite days of the year. Honoring the greats of Texas golf at the annual Texas golf hall of fame ceremonies @TexasGolfHoF at square green classic AW Tillinghast Breckenridge Park Among those honored former amateur star Colt Knost, longtime Austin CC pro Dale Morgan

The late golf teacher Dave Peltz, represented by his wife, @LPGA star Stacy Lewis and longtime @NTXPGA executive Mark Harrison. A worthy class for a golf loving state. “This isn’t the Oklahoma Hall of Fall, this is Texas golf the best there is,” said Knost.
