Today, we are launching the Asian Labour School, a sister project of ALR, to build a platform for labour education and strengthen our movement infrastructure. It is for anyone interested in becoming more effective organisers, or expanding knowledge of Asian labour movements.
Finally, Chhim Sithar has been released, having been detailed and jailed since November 2022. She should never have been in jail for one single day for leading NagaWorld workers in struggles for over 10 years.
We would like to share a fantastic online labour history course through the Global Labour University, and co-led by one of our board members, Tim Pringle, at SOAS. glu.iversity.org/en/courses/… @GLU_Network
"By analysing historical examples of labour's response to questions of democracy, dictatorships, authoritarianism, migration, capitalist crises and others, the online course creates spaces for open debates about the labour movement today."
Enrollment is now CLOSED for the Sept-Nov 2024 Semester, as all classes are now filled. Thanks for everyone's support! We are overwhelmed by all the interest in our courses. If you have registered, you will be hearing from us soon.

Been building a collection of Chinese labor materials, it's taken eight years and we have tens of thousands of items. It's the only archive of its kind in the world.
Kevin Lin and I pulled some items to launch the collection and generate discussion. Many good events, c'mon by!
If you are curious about the transformation of the Chinese working class and workers’ struggles in the last thirty years, please join us at this unique exhibition on Sept 21-29, 2024, in Brooklyn, NYC, featuring China labor collections from Kheel Center at Cornell University.
