Lost Brother of Tony Zorzi🤡
So after excelling in both ODI & T20I formats consistently for 6 years. Tadiwanashe Marumani gets his chance in toughest format of the game - Test cricket against Afghans.

He’s another Pehlukwayo! 😂
I might get criticised for this, but there is a crucial distinction in South African cricket between a player being criticised because of his skin colour and a player's poor performances opening up conversations about his skin colour. Those are not the same thing, and we keep treating them as if they are. Take Tony de Zorzi. He averages 30.63 from 17 Tests, which is a fair reason to question his place in the side. And when you compare his record with David Bedingham's, I find it difficult to understand why De Zorzi was recalled while Bedingham was dropped. Conrad's explanation was that it was good to welcome Tony back after his recovery from injury. You can disagree with that selection, as I do, without automatically making it about quotas. And this isn't to say that racial prejudice doesn't exist. Racial abuse is unacceptable and should be called out. But Verreynne and Stubbs have also faced criticism, and not every criticism of a player of colour is automatically racial. We need to be able to separate questions about performance and selection from actual racial prejudice. Ashwell Prince is worth remembering here. He played 66 Tests, scored 11 centuries and averaged over 40, opening when the team needed an opener and moving back into the middle order when they needed him there. He faced genuine discrimination and is now South Africa's batting coach. We should be able to recognise racial prejudice without turning every criticism of a player's cricket into a debate about race.

South Africa's future is going to look like Zimbabwe's, with players like Marumani and Madhevere?
Replying to @askfromsid
The future is a black African batting captain after Bavuma leaves.

What Vaughan or other cricket legends think doesn't really matter. The Proteas won the WTC and proved themselves on the field. How about England's ODI World Cup win in 2019? Was that a fluke too? 😂
No I didn’t … they deserved to win the final .. I just had a problem with how they made the final … they have since proven to be the best team in the world at the moment .. #Thanks

If you're dropping Bedingham to build for the future, then pick a genuinely young prospect like the Herman brothers or Dewald Brevis. What's the point of replacing Bedingham with Zorzi? How does that help South Africa build for the future? Doesn't make sense!
Squad Announcement 🚨 The South Africa Men’s selection panel has today named a 15-player squad to face Bangladesh in the two-match Dafabet Test series later this month. The first Dafabet Test will take place at the DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg from 15 - 19 November, followed by the second Dafabet Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion from 23 - 27 November. Tony de Zorzi returns after recovering from the hamstring injury that ruled him out of the Test series against Australia, while batter Zubayr Hamza has also been included in the squad. On the bowling front, Anrich Nortje returns to the squad after being sidelined for two weeks with a groin injury. Fast bowler Lungi Ngidi was not considered for selection as he continues his rehabilitation. #Unbreakable #SAvBAN

Why is Simon Harmer better than Keshav Maharaj? Harmer is particularly dangerous against left handed batters, gets significantly more turn and has a wider range of variations. He is also a much better batter. Maharaj tends to bowl similar deliveries, with limited variation,

whereas Harmer offers more ways to trouble batters. In my opinion, Harmer is ahead in almost every department. Maharaj is a decent option in ODIs, but overall, Harmer is the more complete offspinner and a better allround package for South Africa.
