At our AGM 2 weeks ago, we announced some exciting new supports for our ECAs, and the first of these is a new ECA rep on the committee. The call for expressions of interest is now open, & we'd love to hear from enthusiastic ECAs who want to shape the strategic direction of ASMCF.
Another bright and warm morning in London for Day 2 of #asmcfLondon2026: lots of interesting panels this morning - from pedagogy and ecology to grief and memory - and workshops this afternoon.
Our AGM had fond farewells to Exec members Nicole Fayard & Oliver Davis, & PG Rep Zooey Ziller, and welcomed new Conference Officer Sophie Ellis & new PG Rep Eli Jeannin. There are also some exciting new developments in the pipeline to support the ECA community. Watch this space!
Our first panel sessions brought in witnesses to crisis through a poetry, non-fiction, film and novels in Panel 1A, and the French nation in crisis in Panel 1B.
Our first session was from @DrFionaBarclay and @mckelvey_helen: sharing insights from the TransCoLL and Language Trends projects on the state of French across the UK and Ireland, with some fascinating comparisons between the different nations.
It's time for our annual conference! We are looking forward to 2 days of enriching conversations around the important topic of Crisis or Catastrophe. Follow along to hear what's going on! #asmcfLondon2026
