I’m currently away focusing on writing commissions. It was a pleasure to meet with Lisa McNeil, the Chair of the Aspergillosis Trust @aspertrust, along with Trustee Katie Martin, to discuss a story I’m developing to help raise awareness about the condition. Individuals with respiratory issues are particularly vulnerable, including the 7.2 million people in the UK who are registered as asthmatic. I encourage you to visit their website to learn more about their mission and the critical work they are doing. aspergillosistrust.org/

As Chair of the @WHO Task Force of AMR Survivors, I invite you to share our "AMR is Invisible. I am not." campaign. Alternatively, please reach out to one of our members or identify a patient story within your local community.
This year’s WAAW theme is Educate. Advocate. Act Now. Let’s ensure we include the often unheard voices of those most affected by this global health threat.

AMR, or Antimicrobial Resistance, is a natural phenomenon where infection-causing microorganisms (germs) such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites evolve to become resistant to the antimicrobial medicines that were designed to treat them. These antimicrobial medicines include antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals and antiparasitics.
AMR is a global health emergency, yet most patients and the public have never heard of it before. It is important that we can all play a role in protecting these life-saving medicines so they continue to work when we need them most.
We've created this short video which explains the basics of AMR.
