Day 017, orbit 0269 – Throwback to one of the first pictures of Crew‑12 in space… and we were of course looking back at Earth from this orbital vantage point. First‑ and second‑time fliers united in their love for our home planet and their awe at its beauty. We were at a loss for words to describe how stunning Earth is – and how this view made us feel.
This picture was taken on Saturday 14 February, during the 34 hours SpaceX Dragon Freedom spent chasing the Station before docking.

Yesterday was such a big day! It is an honour to back up Jeremy Hansen on the #Artemis II mission. I can’t wait to work on defining and developing the procedures and architecture required for humanity’s return to the Moon. Learn a bit more about me:

In the terrains of Arizona, USA, we dove into practical geology training.
In addition to drawing geological maps, studying volcanoes and utilising scientific field instruments, we also did theoretical training, learning more about the surface of planets and their weather 🪨🔎

Being the photo-chase pilot for this fly-by was a great experience! Here's a background video (instagram.com/reel/CiN-LOBO1…) of how we got ready to put ourselves in the right piece of sky, with the right camera settings, to capture this moment.

While #Artemis I won't have any people on board, future missions will! NASA Astronauts and astronaut candidates took T-38 jets to @NASAKennedy to check out Orion and the rocket on the launch pad.
We’re so excited to be here to watch the awesome NASA team in action!
We’re GOing in 1 more day! 🚀
Spending my morning at @NASAKennedy with a few @NASA_Astronauts candidates before #Artemis I launch. This is what the future of space exploration looks like!

I am not in the first two pictures, but I’m flying with her in the third! Had an excellent NASA photographer in the aft cockpit taking the shot. Thanks for the great lead, Vapor!
