Z80 board ready for wire wrapping. Power lines in, reset circuit in and tested. Now the fun starts 😀😀
The more technology advances, the further back I go... 🤣
I've been wanting to try out wire wrap boards for a while... I'm going to put a small Z80 with PIA and SIO as a first attempt.

I'm learning Verilog so I decided to implement a composite video with a grid on FGPA. Also learned a lot about the composite signal. The grid is too wide, so I need to look into that. Lots of fiddly bits to get it to sync properly - the second draft will be to simplify it.
A quick video to show a latch circuit with fault lines for resetting. I needed to test it quickly before committing to the design.
Hmm... my collection of old capacitors from retro repairs is growing - and this is just from the last few months!
Busy with the Sansui Amp rebuild. Inside, a power capacitor that someone had replaced a while back. The price tag - "RF POTTS" for 40p!
I googled it to see if there was any info - assuming it no longer existed... it is still going. Established in 1933.

Sometimes Amazon comes up with 'Frequently bought together' pairings that are so funny. Don't get these two mixed up in your repairs 🤣
Another addition to my collection. No idea if it works yet- well, there is no analog TV in the UK anymore, as far as I know. Might add a composite input. There is no battery with this one either.
Got another two ZX Printers. One works, one does not - I don't know yet which is which. I want to connect one of them up to an Arduino..... just for fun.... 😄
Sansui AU-222 . Next up for repair. This one is quite beaten up. Gonna be fun.

I've just put the first part of my Apple IIe repair. This one shows the fix to the motherboard. Subsequent ones will show the power supply, keyboard, drive and monitor repairs.

This is why you need to check and replace electrolytic capacitors on old machines #electronics #retro #repair
