PSA for the >2,635 events across SF/LA tech week.
1. SF clusters is in SOMA, then FiDi, Jackson Square, Mission Bay, and the Mission.
2. Pick two-three anchor events, not 14 Luma/Partiful RSVPs. Official bookends are Fireworks x a16z (10/5) & a16z x Unicorner x Notion afterparty (10/9)
3. Leave each event with at least one meaningful conversations + give first: an intro, product feedback, sharing useful material
4. @meetgranola is fantastic for recording panel insights (not paid sponsorship, just a fan) - but this gives me the ick if i'm being recorded 1:1 offline. Bonus, send the host the most quotable lines from the panels + pictures.
5. Get a digital business card so you’re not fumbling QR codes or first names (@atrium_me, Blinq, Popl, Beacons)
6. Use agents that prep you 3x deeper on the speakers, companies, and topics before each event (@bot , @atrium_me 😉)
7. Debrief agent on the way out, who did you meet, what is one story, personal anecdote, thread you're going to pull, follow-up (@atrium_me asks you automatically 😘)
8. Powerbank >10k mAh is essential
9. Layers. SF can be 4 seasons in a day
10. Don’t wait to do follow-ups next Monday, do them earlier (Sat/Sun) and be specific.
11. If you are raising, sit in operator rooms - not rooms where investors are already being swarmed.
12. For the love of god please stop asking "so what do you do?". There are so many more tasteful other things to start with:
“What are you trying to get out of this week?”
“What were the big lessons this quarter?”
“Have you had a conversation yet that wasn’t a pitch in disguise?”

Had the pleasure of bringing together +60 Aussies, Kiwis (+1 Frenchie) in SF last Friday with @dancoughlan_ , who I used to work back to back with at Airtree.
So good to see new faces and old friends, all punching above their weights here in the Bay Area.
From building safety-critical compute for satellites, to designing the brands of world-class deep tech, to leading the largest private financing of compute ever ($35B) - safe to say we had some talented folks in the room.
