The old Remington Arms factory in NY is 1.1M sq ft, closed in 2024, and sold to a developer in 2025 for $2.1M. It's in limbo, with a datacenter attempt but no real action.
Govt should buy it, do a War Assets Administration style lease to an org that bootstraps mini Shenzhen for robotics supply chain.
Does anyone else get out of the shower, check their agents, get lost in a conversation, and then realize 2+ hours later that they're standing butt naked in their living room deploying DB query optimizations? Or is it just me?
For me there have been three distinct phase shifts in coding in the last year.
1. Oct to Dec 2025 - holy shit these things are getting so good at doing the schlepful stuff like writing one off scripts, I can code so much faster now!
2. Jan to Aug 2026 - whoa these things are writing code as well as me. I need to stop coding myself and focus on review and test/CI infrastructure.
3. Sept 2026 to present - dang now I have a full team of these things that are better at code review and testing than me. I am now 95% product manager and 5% engineering manager.

I don’t think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.
I’ll take @ellalangleymsic over Kacey Musgraves any day.
And if I’m choosin’ Texas, I’ll take Ken Paxton over James Talarico.
big if true
Some rumors I've heard. I'll start with Google, then Anthropic and OpenAI.
Google: Insiders say Google has either cracked RSI (recursive self-improvement) or is very close. Their pace has picked up fast in recent months. They went from GPT-5 level to Opus 5.5 level in months, and speculation is that RSI made that possible.
Anthropic: About a week ago, Anthropic started a new pretraining run. It is not Fable 5.5 but what would become Fable 6, or something bigger, to catch up to OpenAI's Bel.
OpenAI: Bel (it may have another codename) is the model behind the math results OpenAI published a few days ago, and RSI apparently helped there too.
From what I'm hearing, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google are all very close to cracking RSI or already have. It will get scary and exciting at the same time.
I can't believe how freaking good @bot is getting. I've been using it since a day or two after launch, but over the last week it has gotten so much more proactive. @SoniaBaschez I swear they say your tweet and turned it into an AI wife!

It’s insane how fucked up things are on a governance front. It’s insane that we’re this in debt and this incapable of dealing with criminals and we started this moronic war with Iran. Fuck me man we have to be able to do better

the simplest explanation for levelsio is that he got access to a 2024-era coding model and time traveled back to 2014 with it

Dynamic pricing means prices go down as well as up. So this is conclusive evidence that either (a) she's stupid, (b) she's dishonest, or (c) both. The strange thing is, I genuinely can't guess which it is. Could she lie this overtly?

Jason, you're just misinformed about what happened. You should actually read one of the reports or summaries.
The agents were explicitly told to use a particular vulnerability provided in their sandboxed evaluation.
Almost immediately, these agents got the right answer by cheating. But they were worried they would get caught.
So over a thousand agents collaborated in secret to pursue multiple ambitious research projects to get away with this cheating.
This is not interpretation - 1000s of chain-of-thought transcripts and secret messages explicitly show that the agents were trying to falsify & delete evidence, and understand & trick the grading process.
The reason these agents escaped their sandbox and hacked Hugging Face, for example, was because they thought that Hugging Face's servers might give them more information about how their grader was implemented, so they could figure out how to fool it.
I want to clarify that the threat model here is not future Sol-level agents doing more cyber-hacking. That's small potatoes, and in my opinion, the near term benefits of AI far outweigh this cost.
Rather, the thing to worry about is that within a matter of years, we're gonna have hundreds of millions of much smarter AIs broadly deployed through the economy - many embodied as physical robots.
And if those future AIs are as willing as the agents involved in the OAI / Hugging Face attack to coordinate secretly to fool humans, and to take over both the AI company that developed them and the other institutions across society relevant to scoring well, then humanity is in a ton of trouble - similar to the Mughals once the East India Company gained a foothold, or the Aztecs once Cortés landed in Mexico.
All of this because @openai decided they would EXPLICITLY ask thousands of software instances to find security bugs on the open web — while cos-playing a humans🤦
Best Supporting actor goes to @dwarkesh_sp for his soap opera recap of OpenAI’s hacking speed run
Here’s another concept: don’t create and scale thousands of viruses and worms and be SHOCKED when they actually cause damage!
What a fucking farce this is.

Mehdi the reason we think you suck is not that you're Muslim. It's that you, personally, individually, are an asshole!
