I legitimately think HLE is the best LoL roster ever created. This is purely based on my own observations of skill and player personality and individual player achievement. Zeus, pure mechanics, strong side top laner, passive personality, needs leadership. Rare combo as aggressive top laners generally command resources or int. Basically TheShy but not as much inting. Players like this are the most valuable players on any roster as they open up a whole book of new drafting strategies that most teams cannot draft around, they have to start predicting flexes and risk unusual matchups. This is why Zeus is infinitely more valuable than Kiin, way more potential picks and more chaotic gambles. Kiin is considered the best top laner by many but his downfall is that he is predictable and rarely a threat to take into account. Kanavi, complete masterclass of counter jungling, invading, makes himself the center of every early game consistently. Can play high risk flippy champions, isnt afraid to take any risks. Hes the knife that opens the wound for the rest of the team. The perfect jungler for the playstyles on this team, a leader, someone who can start fights anywhere. Oner does this as well, but mainly plays around mid lane, and isnt necessarily a wildcard that can play around all lanes, as hes grown locked into the "play around mid" playstyle. Canyon doesnt do this, way more passive and thoughtful with his pathing, and doesnt do well off script. Zeka, learned to pressure laning phase similar to Faker, and recently starting CSing like Chovy. Old playstyle was more unique, won worlds off roaming to jungle and sides and playing the map. Now he has that skillset + lane dominance and doesnt sacrifice as much CS to move into mid-late. Thrived off his mains, now has put in the work to be a world class mid laner, being able to play any style and adapts to the versatile playstyles now that HLE has every playstyle available to them. Learned how to play with chaotic junglers cause of Pyosik, so is used to not controlling jungle and just following their lead. Gumayusi, the most important addition to this team. Trained his whole carrer to be a weak side bot laner, with a growing ability to play strong side. Guma's personality is what makes teams work. He is the vocal lube to the coms, as his calm presence along with consistent stable gameplay and street cred of winning the last 3 worlds. Calm, fun, brings a lighter atmosphere to any team. In high pressure situations, he is chill and never tilts, so it makes the team feel less pressured. As a weak side bot laner, he frees the rest of his teammates to feel less locked up in draft, which is a massive change from Viper. This means Zeka and Zeus has almost free reign in any draft. And this makes Kanavi's job a whole lot easier, as with Viper he would feel pressured to make sure Viper gets ahead in most drafts. I feel for Peanut's job in the last roster with Zeus top and Viper bottom, as either Zeus or Viper was likely unconformable in every draft. So not only are you getting the best weak side bot laner, but his personality meshes with the jungle chaos, enables Zeka and Zeus in draft. And the trust all the members on this team give him enable the team to run a strong side bot if they need too, as Delight is more used to playing with hypercarry ADCs (Ruler, Viper, Peyz). Delight, the best support for Gumayusi to pair with. They started their careers together at the very bottom, and both worked up to stardom on two rival orgs. Now, they are together on a completely different org. They can trust each other with no pressure, as both have had separate success. This prevents Guma's T1 stardom from overpowering Delights decision making, as pretty much any other support would feel immense pressure to not disappoint the 3 time back to back to back reigning world champ adc. Other than Keria, who else could do it? Keria is a bit of a diva, you can tell, he thinks very highly of himself, and warps drafts around his crazy picks, and guma always had to conform to Keria his whole career. Now, Delight respects Guma, and for the first time he can actually work with his support and have a little more say in the bot lane picks. I think Guma/Delight are way more friendly with eachother. For example, i dont think Delight is as pressured as Keria, i dont think hed cry if they lost in worlds finals game 5, i think theres a massive personality different between Guma/Keria. This is no shot at Keria, but i believe Guma's trust in him was slightly taken advantage of to make Keria look a lot better, and now with Peyz, i dont think that trust is there like it was with Guma, making Keria look a lot weaker. Guma will enable Delight in the same way, but with way more trust and respect. Its worth noting that Delight has also mainly played with hypercarry ADC players(Ruler, Peyz, Viper) and knows all of the other top players at a deep level. He knows all their strengths and weaknesses, and is way more free in draft to pick what he wants. Overall this roster is good because of the personalities on the team, giving a more laid back atmosphere. Little pressure, but still drive to win cause of Kanavi and Delight. This is why they will succeed over T1 and GenG from here on out, as long as all the rosters stay the same.
