Scent gradients are weird. Was walking through a residential area when I was undoubtedly hit with sausage peppers and onions. Then as I walked it unmistakably morphed into pho. Then back to sausage peppers and onions. I have no idea what’s actually going on in these kitchens.

G.K. Chesterton on mysticism
Mysticism keeps men sane. As long as you have mystery you have health; when you destroy mystery you create morbidity. The ordinary man has always been sane because the ordinary man has always been a mystic. He has permitted the twilight. He has always had one foot in earth and the other in fairyland. He has always left himself free to doubt his gods; but (unlike the agnostic of to-day) free also to believe in them. He has always cared more for truth than for consistency. If he saw two truths that seemed to contradict each other, he would take the two truths and contradiction along with them. His spiritual sight is stereoscopic, like his physical sight: he sees two different pictures at once and yet sees all the better for that. Thus, he has always believed that there was such a thing as fate, but such a thing as free will also.

You Can See Everything is a fascinating, unsettling, and intimate character study of Elizabeth Holmes by Nathan Fielder. It’s not what everyone expects, like Digger. Per the title, you do see a lot (too much), but that leaves us with more questions. The film breathes into its nearly 3 hour runtime. Oppenheim’s direction is fitting for the subject matter and recognizable from Primetime. I hope there’s a part two, but it works as a standalone. Respect to Fielder, who’s as funny as he is earnest, and gives us the best Holmes documentary yet.

BREAKING: SEWER PEOPLE EXIT ON UPPER EAST SIDE. Around 4:40 a.m., NYPD responded to E82nd St. where at least 3-5 individuals were seen exiting a sewer in the middle of the street. An NYPD ESU unit responded with a magnet to fish out a pair of shovels and another tool possibly left behind by the suspects. Video by Dakota Santiago | Licensing @FreedomNTV [email protected]

Before the Nazis took power in 1933, the groups that leaned most strongly into Nazi or Nazi-adjacent ideology were university students (by far), professors, doctors, Protestant clergy, judges, and the nationalist press. Many teachers too, individually – not yet as a profession.
