END OF 3Q: La Vega 50, Lorena 35 Lady Pirates doing what they do in pulling away. A pair of threes and free throws by @avery_jespersen helped trim the Lady Leopards’ deficit from 20 to 15. #txhsbb

Beginning the transition to #txhsbb coverage, as @WacoTribSports is here to see No. 5 @HillsboroGBB take on Lorena. The Lady Eagles (12-1) are off to a strong start. I’m told the Lady Leopards (7-4) will honor @avery_jespersen pregame for reaching 1,000 career points.

.@Lady_Leopard_BB earned its second win over a ranked opponent this season, rolling past No. 5 @HillsboroGBB 61-41 behind a balanced effort, lockdown defense and eight 3-pointers. #txhsbb @avery_jespersen @summer_johnsonn @H_Morris21 wacotrib.com/sports/high-sch… – at Waco, TX

Lorena’s defense smothers No. 5 Hillsboro in 61-41 rout

First-year coach Hilary Morris and the Lady Leopards delivered one of their sharpest performances yet, locking down No. 5 Hillsboro with defense, 3-pointers and a trio of double-figure scorers.
