At a recent event where I spoke at a community center, a group of “pro-Palestine” militiamen appeared outside to protest and disrupt the event, along with agitated older white women who entered the venue to do the same on the inside. The organizers and I had arranged extensive security because these same “activists” had spent days trying to get the event canceled and openly vowed to do whatever they could to stop it from happening. As I walked in, a few masked “activists” in keffiyehs whispered, "is this the genocide guy?" I turned to them and said, "hi gentlemen, thanks for coming." One replied, "Free Palestine." I responded, "I agree, including from Hamas."
Once I began speaking, several disruptors engaged in a steady stream of whispering, side conversations, eye-rolling, posturing, and juvenile antics. I stopped and asked one of the women why she and her comrades were behaving like children. She admitted she knew nothing about me or my work but felt qualified to declare that if I were truly Palestinian, my Nakba-surviving grandparents would be rolling in their graves. I asked the agitators to be respectful, explaining that while security could remove them, I would rather they listen to what I actually had to say, instead of relying on misinformation spread about me by the local DSA, BDS, and other "pro-Palestine" groups.
What enraged me most was their reaction when I spoke about my family in Gaza, the relatives we have lost to Israeli airstrikes during the post-October 7 war, and the destruction of both my childhood homes. These white “activists” laughed and smirked as I described some of the most painful experiences of my life and the sense of personal loss that inspires my work. They showed shocking indifference toward the very Palestinians on whose behalf they claim to be acting.
I confronted some of the disruptors directly and asked why they get to define what it means to be "pro-Palestine," despite knowing nothing about me and showing no interest in the trauma my family has endured. Some stormed out shouting "Free Palestine." Others fell silent. One person, despite strongly disagreeing with me, acknowledged that my views were rooted in personal loss and genuine concern for my people and shook my hand before leaving.
On my way out, a pseudo-journalist known for glorifying Hamas and "the resistance" tried to ambush me with questions about whether I was paid by weapons manufacturers, oil companies, or, as he brilliantly misstated it, the "Arab Union Emirates." It struck me how absurd it is that I needed three heavily armed security officers and a bodyguard simply to speak about healing and reconciliation between Palestinians and Israelis, the dangers of extremism for both societies, the catastrophic damage Hamas has inflicted on the Palestinian national project, and the right of Palestinians to freedom, safety, and prosperity alongside a secure Israel.

The points made here are so beyond crucial as higher ed works to find a path forward and to fix the rot caused by antisemitsm.

These are my great-grandfather Dr. Sam Aykroyd’s transcripts from the Seances he hosted in the Old Farmhouse. It was the spirit of his work passed down through the generations that inspired my interests. He’s the original Ghostbuster.
Apparently my town needs a new cemetery caretaker, which is low work and comes with a house for $1600/month with really quiet neighbors...

Instead you use a rod called a yod, Hebrew for hand, which often has the shape of a hand with a finger outstretched to track the words as it is read. If it is damaged it must be sent for restoration which requires the entire parchment sheet to be scraped clean and redone.
Once written it is gone over by a proofreader and even a single missing or malformed letter makes that sheet unkosher and it must be replaced. The process takes up to 18 months.
Once it is finished and is being read from, you cannot touch the page.
In case you didn't know: a Torah is not like a Bible or Quran, it's is a hand written scroll. Each letter is carefully inked, by hand. Even a single mistake means that portion must be redone.
It comprises over 300k letters on 62-84 parchment sheets.
There are few experiences in Jewish life as meaningful as participating in the writing of a Sefer Torah. This time-honoured tradition connects generations of Jews to our history, faith and enduring identity. A Torah scroll is not complete until every letter has been written, and the privilege of completing a letter alongside a sofer (scribe) is a profound honour, reflecting the unique role each of us plays in our shared story.
Recently, I had the opportunity to take part in this extraordinary tradition alongside my incredible friends and colleagues from the Israel Economic Forum. But the setting was unlike any other: Chabad of Bondi. And the Sefer Torah was being dedicated in memory of those murdered in the Bondi terror attack, and in tribute to the survivors.
As I approached to complete my letter, already deeply moved by the significance of the occasion, my dear friend and the inspirational founder and CEO of IEF, Avi Jorisch, approached the sofer and said: “He’s going to do three more letters – two for his girls and one for his wife.”
In that moment, words will never full convey what I felt. To be part of a Sefer Torah dedicated in the name of those whose lives were taken, in a place that holds such profound meaning for our community, was already an extraordinary privilege. But to write letters in honour of my wife and our daughters, the people who are my entire being and were there that day at Bondi as well, mean everything to me, and made it immeasurably more personal. As someone who survived the Bondi attack, the experience carried a significance I will struggle to fully put into words. This experience was a reminder not only of the preciousness of life, but the enduring strength of our people, and the power of our faith and unity to bring light, meaning and hope even in the face of unimaginable darkness. I will forever cherish the honour of having played a small part in this sacred and deeply moving moment.

What?? Hill Top Jewish terrorists are against Zionism, the rules of the State of Israel, and are behaving like out of control militias with vast arsenals of weapons? They don't see themselves as accountable to fellow Israelis or "Infidels" as they chant? Who would have thought!

What a privilege to be back on my friend @DonnyDeutsch's On Brand podcast to talk about antisemitism, extremism and the state of the world. We’re living in a volatile world and a global tsunami of anti-Jewish hate that requires every one of us to do our part.
We talked in depth about @ADL's new #StateoftheArts report and the expulsion and erasure of Jewish and Israeli voices from arts and culture, about the capture of Wikipedia, and the need to address the emerging challenges on social media and online spaces

I’m sorry this is infuriating to me. We didn’t fight our fucking asses off for gay rights & gay marriage for these Gen Z “democrat” fucks to attack people, dead people who can’t defend themselves, for being gay. Condemn republicans for opposing gay rights, not for being gay.

Myriam was a 7-year-old French Jewish girl. She witnessed a terrorist break into her school and kill two of her classmates.
She tried to run but tripped while grabbing her schoolbag, causing her ballet slippers to fall out. She stopped to pick them up. He chased her and grabbed her by the hair, shooting her in the head at point-blank range.
The man was Mohamed Merah, and a rap song honoring him and other Muslim terrorists has become the unofficial anthem of the ‘student protests’ in France.
