There is very little Labour can do Gordon Brothers is a huge well run international retail organization. I don't think the Ministers realise how diverse it is. If Gordon Brothers think that (probably) a pre,pack administration is the way ahead, then so be it.

PETE HEGSETH: THE FIRST POLITICAL CASUALTY OF TRUMP’S MIDTERM DEFEAT?
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth could become one of the biggest political casualties of the Republican Party’s 2026 midterm defeat.
His controversial handling of the Iran war, which critics argue was driven by Netanyahu’s influence and a failure to adequately weigh America’s strategic interests, may have helped turn voters against Trump and his administration.
His repeated removal of experienced generals and senior military officials has also raised serious questions about his judgment, leadership and politicization of the military. With reports of growing frustration among White House insiders and calls for personnel changes, Hegseth could become the administration’s first major casualty of the electoral backlash.
As Democrats are poised to take control of both the US Senate and the US House of Representatives, he will face a much tougher battle: congressional investigations, subpoenas, public hearings and potentially impeachment proceedings. In many ways, Hegseth could become the face of a costly foreign-policy gamble that Republicans will struggle to defend.

Democrat Nancy Lacore, a 35-year Navy veteran who rose through the ranks from helicopter pilot to become Chief of Navy Reserve, was fired in August of 2025 amid Hegseth's purging of high-ranking women in the military. While no official reason was given, the deeply misogynistic Hegseth has not been coy about his caveman belief that only testosterone-injecting men should serve.
Lacore has now defeated Republican Jenny Costa Honeycutt to seize a seat that was formerly held by MAGA lunatic Nancy Mace who launched a failed bid for the governor's mansion this year.
Lacore has not been shy about criticizing Hegseth's disastrous mismanagement of the Defense Department, particularly his failed Iran War.
"Pete Hegseth is the most unqualified Secretary of Defense that we have ever had, and he is doing significant damage to our military that it will really take decades to undo," she said, adding that he "needs to go."
The most beautiful irony here? Congresswoman Lacore could soon be voting with the rest of the Democratic majority in the House to impeach Pete Hegseth. We have subpoena power starting in January, so we'll be able to uncover all of the gross negligence and rampant criminality that he's overseen.

Good grief, but the John Lewis Xmas advert is AWFUL.
It's basically an advert for buying gifts for ungrateful kids with terrible parents.
The grandchildren are just plain rude. The parents don't notice or care. So the grandma decides to splash the cash on gifts she thinks they will like - so rewarding their rudeness!
If I had a kid who behaved like that, they wouldn't be getting a single gift on Christmas Day. Not one.
Oh, and of COURSE the ad has to feature a mixed race family (who make up 1.3% of all British families yet about 50% of families appearing in TV adverts) because, y'know, diversity.
It's all so bloody irritating. 🙄
