A better map for the point.

News: The French are rioting over high cost of living and under-resourced high schools. The rioters: Yes, that's what we are rioting over. The French government: Yupp, they're rioting over that. Everyone: Yepp, that's whats happening. The far right: Da Blacks! Da Muzlims!

However there are no magic people either. Societies are systems, which create people, and incentives and cultures which enforce the laws.
There is no magic soil. There's no magic Constitution or laws either. A nation is only its people, and it lives or dies on that alone.

The purpose of the thrusters is to get people to talk about Tesla. They’ll never ship one except maybe for a few specific stunts.
I hate to be the one to burst the Tesla bubble today, but the spectacular “flight” we witnessed at the Roadster reveal needs a little context. The car is carrying around 250kg of compressed air, plus the weight of the tanks, valves and thrusters needed to contain and release it. Based on the published figures, that gives it roughly 1.5–2 seconds of maximum thrust before the system needs to be refilled. In short, it's a gimmick.

Whatever the tooth fae is offering don’t give them your children’s teeth. There must be a lot of magic in that enamel for as soon as they are gone, they’ll stop talking to the magical friends around them.

Would be a very fun form factor if it wasn’t for Siri.

Sure the iPhone duo at a 1:1.4 aspect ratio is cool but you know what’s cooler? A 1:1.7 ratio. * uses all 3 screens when unfolded * closer to widescreen video * similar in size to iPhone max when folded and a 11” iPad when open * consistent screen aspect ratio

Today ICANN revealed the new gTLD round. One application for .ens, and it's ours, uncontested. No auction, no rival claim, just process ahead. One string, one applicant, one job: we are here to innovate at the seam of web2 and web3 until names simply work everywhere. icann.org/en/announcements/d…

I spent years advocating for a new kind of web where you owned your own content. Worked on tools for decentralized storage, blockchain usernames, p2p networking. Last week I asked an agent to scour the web for everything I ever posted on flickr, posterous, mirror, medium and the internet archive etc and to convert it into files I own locally. I took back control of my own content and digital life and all I needed was git and markdown. blog.vandesande.design

I also rebuilt my personal website. Im quite happy with it. vandesande.design The way I did it was interesting: I was playing with opus and gave it a content and asked it to suggest 5 layouts. They were all crap, but one had an interesting concept behind it. So we started working on it together until it refined it to this.

This is how I see working with AI tools. A one prompt will never do the job, even if it outputs something that would take a long time before. A good work takes some time, AI just allows you to iterate faster. And you have to think of the goals: I like AI building my code because my goal is to build the tool to communicate my ideas. But I don't let it write my own blog posts because for me the purpose of writing them is the act of writing itself (similar to drawing and painting). I do it for me, because I like it.

So, is the Pope using the "Dogs don't go to heaven" clause to argue against AI consciousness, or am I misunderstanding?

It’s so confusing that opus is better than fable which is better than opus. The internal model ancestry doesn’t matter for the end user, simply clearly communicate which one to pick.

Me: add these quotes on the site Claude: sorry, that’s too long of a copyrighted text. Can’t do it. Me: dude it’s perfect example of fair use, it’s ok. Claude: still can’t do it. But you know what, I added some filler text instead. If someone would edit this specific file at this specific line and add the rest of the text, that would be ok.
