🚨Injury Alert – Lea Jansen out🚨 Lea has shared with me that she has a fractured patella in her left leg. She will not be playing in this week's Virginia Beach Open. Being the badass that she is, Lea has been playing on the injured leg since May in MLP. She felt like her athletic ability was compromised, but she powered through. It took an MRI to finally find the root cause of her pain. She is figuring out the best steps to a full recovery with her doctors and how to get back to playing at 100% as quickly as possible. Best of wishes in recovery, Lea!

🚨Ben Johns Withdraws from Singles🚨 Johns was scheduled to play Roscoe Bellamy today in the Rd of 32, but has withdrawn Despite being the 16 seed, Johns got a 1st round bye in singles in the Chicago Cup based on his World Pickleball Ranking, so Johns hasn't even played a match in this tournament in singles After making the finals in all 3 disciplines (and losing in all 3) on Sunday in Vegas, Johns is now only in mixed and men's doubles in Chicago. Bellamy moves on to the Rd of 16 tomorrow with the walkover, facing the winner of Grayson Goldin and Yates Johnson.

🚨Upset Alert - Womens Singles 🚨 36 Estee Widdershoven takes down 32 Sofia Sewing I know it's only 4 seeds, but Sewing is considered by many to be a top 10 singles player (based on talent alone) Widdershoven, originally from Belgium, attended Valdosta State for tennis and has committed full-time to pickleball in the last year She played for @themiamipc this past @MajorLeaguePB year and has increased her stock tremendously over the past 6 months with some great play I had Sewing making it to the finals, so my bracket is BUSTED
