Wait, you mean people in other countries are afraid to drink water straight from the tap?
In Japan, we grow up drinking tap water at home, at school, and from drinking fountains in public parks.
We don’t think twice about it. Turn the faucet, fill a glass, and drink.
I never realized this was something people around the world couldn’t take for granted.
Now I’m curious. Can you safely drink tap water in your country?
American tap water is supposed to be clean enough to drink straight up, but most people don't, we filter the tap water because it is horrible taste if you don't filter. My water is so cloudy it looks like watered down milk in my glass, I have to filter it.
