Lando with a very sweet message about his successor, kimi antonelli ❤️ Q: “This weekend is kimis chance, another chance to, win the world championship. How do you feel about the baton to him [kimi] and what he managed to achieve this year…did he have it easier, harder than you did?” A: “Don’t really care he’s winning a championship! He’s gonna win the world championship, I don’t think anyone really cares how you do it honestly. They shouldn’t. He’s done an incredible job and I would say he’s done it in a pretty incredible way.” “You know people are saying he hasn’t had any tough competition this year but *laughs* that proves exactly the point that he’s done such an incredible job. He’s got a very, very talented teammate that he’s beaten through the whole season you know, so I have nothing but respect for kimi and he’s a very, very nice guy. We get along very well and I’m more than happy to pass the number 1 over to him.” “He deserves it, he’s done an incredible job, especially his second year Formula One, to be the youngest world champion, all of these things he’s achieved is pretty insane. So I’m more than happy…I enjoy seeing other people have that kind of success, it’s nice to see. I know I’ve had a pretty horrible defensive title but there’s not much more I could’ve done, I feel like I’ve driven a very, very good season we just haven’t had the car, and that’s nothing that’s really in my control. From my side, I feel like I’ve done my very best and the races I could fight against him I feel like we’ve had good fights and it’s been a good season from that perspective.” “More than happy to pass the number one over to him, because he deserves it.”
