This is a really interesting bit of science history!

But, I wanted to improve on that, not just copy the code. Hugh derived his coefficients using numerical methods (i.e., Excel's solver) and I wondered if there's an analytical solution. Turns out that there was a solution, and some dude came up with it 450 years ago!
