Dogs really figured out how to enjoy life. Same walk. Same yard. Same person. Still excited.
Doge needs a good home 👇
Please repost! 🚨
This handsome little guy is ready for his forever home … and he needs to be the only dog in the house.
Meet Kenny (formerly James Bond 007), a rare red Shiba Inu estimated at 4–6 years old.
He’s neutered, around 25–30 lbs, and one of the most affectionate Shibas his foster has looked after.
He’s amazing with people. You can pick him up, kiss him on the forehead, and he sits perfect for nail trims. He’s calm, sweet, and incredibly special … but he does not do well with other dogs.
Ideal home:
• Adult-only household (or very calm, dog-savvy adults)
• Only pet (no other dogs)
• Someone who appreciates a devoted, low-drama companion
Currently in Pennsylvania. We can arrange transport/flight to the right home.
If Kenny sounds like your dog (or you know someone who needs a perfect only-dog Shiba), please send me message!
Happy to send more photos!
Please share this post so we can find his person.
These rare “only dog” Shibas don’t stay available long once the right people see them.
I picked up Laya in Maine this morning, and we’re on our way to San Francisco. She’s not a rescue. She has a family who loves her very much, and they’ve trusted me to get her across the country a few times now.
The last time I transported her, we were headed to San Diego when we got caught in a heavy thunderstorm in Missouri. As soon as it cleared up, my Dodge Caravan started making a god awful racket. I thought the engine was about to blow.
Then the battery light came on, and I figured it had to be the alternator. Sure enough, a bearing was going out. I managed to get us to a Love’s, where we ended up stranded.
Now, some of you might remember me being stranded at a Love’s in Missouri with seven Basset Hounds a couple of years later.
That was the same Love’s.
And it was the same damn problem.
Hundreds of thousands of miles across this country, and the two times I had alternator trouble, I ended up at the exact same truck stop in Missouri.
I couldn’t tell you how many strange coincidences I’ve had out here. You’d think the more of America I saw, the bigger it would feel. But then something like that happens, and I’m sitting there wondering how I ended up right back here.
Anyway, it’s good to have Laya riding with me again.
And thank God we’re going nowhere near Missouri.
I think I figured out why leaving Rocket was so hard for me. Other than the fact that she’s so damn amazing.
I’m usually there for the moment they meet their new family. With her, I had to say goodbye before we got that far.
I wanted to be there for the rest of her story… now I get to be.
In November, Rocket and I are catching a flight and I get to take her home.

The kids are🎵 "getting to know you. Getting to know all about you!" 🎶 Sound on, so you can here Pinky's opinion of him...

Alexa is going to do alright. She’s now with another Shiba family and has a forever home.
🐕❤️
It was very tough saying goodbye to this precious girl. Such a lover. Many kisses. Much cuddles. Most affectionate Shiba I have ever gotten to meet.
From the NYC death row to our home to heal. From our home to her forever home. She will get many walks and has a new little buddy to makes friends with.
Good luck Alexa and good luck Victor on the new addition to your family!
Last Saturday, he didn’t have a name or a family. Today, he’s George, and his foster mom has decided he’s staying.
Welcome home, George. Now there are people who can’t imagine life without you.

Rocket’s been living up to the name I gave her.
We’ve spent the past few days hanging out in Vermont, checking out dog parks and taking a little time to relax. While she’s been doing laps around me, my friends at Shiba Rescue of New England have found her the perfect home.
Next stop is Boston, where she’ll stay with a temporary foster until her new adopter flies in to meet her. Then Rocket gets to take to the sky and fly home.
Gonna miss this little girl. Glad somebody gets to spend a lifetime trying to keep up with her.
