The Climate Economy today feels like the Internet Economy did 20yrs ago when I started my career.
And 20yrs from now, the Climate Economy should be even bigger than the Internet Economy today.
Now's the time to jump in.

Math might have just flipped from being an "exploration domain" to an "explanation domain".
The job of the modern mathematician is no longer to discover new stuff but to digest & explain to the community what has been already discovered by AIs.
Hugging Face. Navier-Stokes. Sara Connor.
If you don't pay obsessive attention to AI but recognize even one name from this list, you're totally on top of the AI discourse of the last 2 weeks 😅
My big update from the Hugging Face incident: the scary thing in AI is agent collectives, more than any individual agent.
The coordination was extraordinary.
A trillion agents could stand in for every one of us, and for whole ecosystems.
I don't know how it would work. Hugging Face showed that strict goal orientation goes badly, so what replaces it? Which values do we give these agents, when we don't agree on values ourselves?
"Can AGI solve climate change? What if we point it at better materials, better industrial processes, even novel geo-engineering?"
I get some version of this question a lot, especially where I live. My answer: you don't need AGI to solve climate change.
Again, a few highly motivated parties thwarting the will of billions, who would likely want this rollout to be slower, to have time to absorb it, and to make it more equitable.
