Hammond Central and the defending 2A state champs Providence to kick off Charlie Hughes at Carmel HS. Good one to start a great weekend.

Good day so far in Westfield at the AMC.

New Prospect Contact Form for Hoosier Preps: When coaches reach out, they might want an opinion but usually just contact information on a prospect. I forward what I have IF I have it. Help yourself later, get me that information today. baumhoops.com/2022/04/14/new…

Another chance to catch an eye AND improve ur stroke before June. 20K CHALLENGE: *Make* 20K 3-pointers before June 1 (7 wks off) If u shoot 6 days/week, ur goal should be 400 makes/day to reach your goal of 20,000 MADE 3s. Dylan Moles had the most makes last year at 17,500.

Prospects, send ur midseason highlights. Ill feature what I can. 90 sec max. Best plays, yes--also show what areas make u special: shooting, on-ball D, boards, toughness, etc. Purpose is 2 pique viewers interest 2 seek out more. Coaches say they 👀 0:45-1 min. Best stuff up front

Not convinced every possession matters? Ben Davis is 14-5 -- 4 Ls by 6pts total. Giants defend at a high level. Jr Sheridan Sharp has emerged as the best on-ball defender, 6'8 Jr Zane Doughty is the rim-protector (3.3 blocks), and 6'5 Jr Shaun Arnold is the junkyard dog... (1/2)

I turn 41 on Thursday. Only bday wish is that u might say a little prayer for my buddy Omarion. Good family. Coached "O" when he was a 6th grader. Should be hooping at Henderson Co. (KY) rt now. An illness and subsequent stroke have left "O" in a place no 16-yr old should be 🙏

Luke Brown is eligible at Ball State.

After 26 pts in a win over 4A Top-10 Bloomington South Tues, Barr-Reeve 6'4 Sr Hagen Knepp has interest from a handful of D-I school. Sizeable D-II/NAIA interest too. D-I UMKC scheduled in when 1A No. 1 BR faces 2A No. 1 C. Noble and Wisconsin-signee Conner Essegian at Southport.

Good time for my annual "shot clock" poll. As informal as it might be, still interesting to see the pulse. "Cost aside, are you in favor of a shot clock in IHSAA hoops?"

Evv Reitz 67, Evv North 36 Final Panthers were impressive this evening, led by junior Isaac Higgs with 27. Gavin Schippert added 15. But it was Higgs confidence and leadership that stood out most. I caught up with Higgs and his coach, Mike Adams afterwards to get their thoughts.

Jalen Jackson is an impressive kid. Lots to like about his on-court abilities. But his mental toughness is elite. "Old soul" maturity about him. Hasn't been easy road to get here, but Mom kept it moving. Signed LOI to Illinois-Chicago today. Future All-Horizon selection.

CJ Gunn signs his LOI.

Westfield playmaker Braden Smith has signed his LOI with the Boilers.

Homestead playmaker Fletcher Loyer signed his LOI with Purdue.

Boone Grove 6'1 PG Trey Steinhilber (2022) took a step forward in 20-21, and took his team with him: 12-11 in 2020, 18-7 in 2021. Creative playmaker who improved across the board: 2021-17.4p/2.4r/3.6a/1.7s; 56% 2s, 38% 3s, 78% FT 2020-8.9p/1.6r/2.9a/1.4s, 44% 2s, 30% 3s, 75% FT

Cathedral 6'1 PG Tayshawn Comer is one of the top available prospects left in the 2022 class in-state. Butler, Loyola, Bradley, Miami (OH), E Kentucky, So Illinois, Ball St, Appalachian St, IUPUI, Belmont, Milwaukee & PFW have offered. Caution: Monster senior year ahead for Comer

Linton-Stockton 6'5 SG Joey Hart (2023) this summer. Holds offers from Northwestern, Wichita St, Central Florida, Loyola, Drake, Ball St, Indiana St, and New Orleans.

Heritage Hills (IN) 6'7 SF Trent Sisley (2025) has size, good stroke, versatility, attitude. Doesn't get sped up. Good poise. Purdue offer and still a month away from first HS practice. Could see 6'10. Has an edge to him. Mean streak between the lines. Excellent body language.
