Today marks 122 years since the death of our inside forward John Jones from typhoid aged just 29. Johns headstone lies flat to the ground in Tottenham Cemetery. I am in contact with his family in Florida about getting it restored. @SpursOfficial

Remembering Tom Collins our captain as WWI approached who died OTD in 1929. Tom made 122 appearances for the club between 1910 and 1915. He rests in Tottenham Cemetery and I thank his Great Grandson Mick who helped massively tidying his final resting place. @SpursOfficial

Every player is remembered whether a club legend or just a single appearance maker such as Leon Joseph below. Leon made his solitary appearance on 18th February 1947 at Burnley. He died on this day in 1983 aged 63 and rests in Bushey Cemetery in Hertfordshire. @SpursOfficial

Further research has led to locating the grave of another young man who played on the Tottenham marshes - Henry Goshawk. He is buried in Tottenham Cemetery. The number of former players, managers, founders & players to make wartime appearances in my research stands at 515.

Billy Minter scored 101 goals in 334 games and became the first Tottenham player to reach the 100 goals for the club in first class games Top scoring for Spurs three times his 95 goals came in the League and he was our record scorer until overtaken by Jimmy Dimmock in 1930

Back in the day - Jimmy Dimmock was my friend's uncle or perhaps great uncle. At 14 ish, we used to go to his flat Fore Street Edmonton on match days. He would give us tickets for the game; the club gave him for each match. We felt ever so posh having seats. #coys #Spurs #THFC

This year marks 90 years since legendary Spurs manager Bill Nicholson joined the club as a ground staff boy. To honour his legacy, a blue plaque will be installed on the house where he grew up in Scarborough. We’re proud to back the campaign and help raise funds for the plaque ahead of its unveiling in July. Please support & donate here: buff.ly/A6JfEze

Remembering Billy Minter who died this very day 86 years ago. Billy joined in 1907 and became the first player to score 100 goals. He served his country during WWI and upon resumption he captained the side in the first half of 1919/20. He became our trainer in 1920 and succeeded Peter McWilliam as manager in 1927. He stepped down 2 years later but the club were keen to retain his services and he became assistant secretary to Arthur Turner until his death in 1940. He rests at Tottenham Cemetery and his grave restoration was the first of many to come at Tottenham Hotspur Grave Society. @SpursOfficial

🇬🇧 At 102 years old, Eric Deacon is one of the last known survivors of the Chindit campaign during the Second World War. Serving with the Royal Signals, Eric played a vital role maintaining communications between troops on the ground and air support operations during the Burma campaign in 1944. His work helped keep units connected in some of the most challenging conditions of the war. Reflecting on his service, Eric described himself as “lucky” to still be here as the UK marks the 81st anniversary of VE Day. Stories like Eric’s are an important reminder of the contribution, resilience and sacrifice of those who served — and why it matters that we continue to remember them. Our thanks go to Eric and all from the Armed Forces community who served during World War Two. 🇬🇧 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c62r…
